Pint at CCB. Opaque unfiltered brown-black. Thinnish beige head. Roasty classic chocolate aroma. A touch soapy and maybe a pinch undermatured. Medium bodied, highly sessionable. Dry, sugary, maybe not as nice as it might have been before I sampled and drank through the menu. Classic, well done Stout. Some mild coffee in the aftertaste. Probably deserves a higher score... dimenhetfield (2486) - , Florida, USA - AUG 23, 2011
On draft at Laser Wolf for Cigar City Tap Takeover. Dark color with minimal head. Aroma is pretty much straight up coffee bean. The flavor has a dry mouth feel but the coffee is still very much present. Although I enjoyed this beer the dryness in some way took away from the coffee flavor. markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - JUL 24, 2011
So nice to have a firkin of a nice dry stout at a beer festival. Pours a dark stout brown with an off-white head. Nose is coffee, earth, sweet coffee, cafe con leche, and a hint of chicory. Flavor is coffee, earth, and dark chocolate with bits of cocoa in there as well. Light in body for the style and a nice addition to the qualities of a dry stout.
