COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Tocobaga lived off the bounty of Tampa Bay hundreds of years before the arrival of the Spanish in the 1500’s. They were potters, tool makers and the only Florida natives to grow maize. The large platform mounds they built are still with us today, with one of the largest found near Old Tampa Bay in Safety Harbor, Florida. Climb to the top, and with a little imagination, you can see Tampa Bay as they did. Graphic design by Eric Swanson. Recipe by Tim Ogden.

Bottle shared by Chaney. Thanks Brandon! The beer is russet brown, with orange to crimson highlights. The head is an inch thick, composed of dense, off white sea foam. The snifter is utterly caked with lacing. The aroma brings some nice hop character, along with a faint malt presence. The scent is reminiscent of many Cigar City brews I have had, with notes of dense smoke. Great flavor and quite interesting. Not your ordinary red ale. The smoke and hop flavors are integrated elegantly. This beer is great for sipping or rapid consumption. Medium bodied with plenty of carbonation. Alcohol content is minimal. Overall, an interesting and unique brew. Fun to drink. I am glad for the opportunity to sample this. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 07-28-2011

Great tasting amber. Poured a copper color with just a little bit of head. The aroma was pine resin, citrus, and a malt wallop. Taste followed and had a excellent balance of malt and hops. Almost a spiciness...unusual for a red ale. Mouthfeel was nice, a little thick, but it worked. Very drinkable. Great stuff.

12oz bottle I picked up on my way through Orlando. Pours hazy copper with off-white head. Aromas of bright citrus, tropical fruits, resiny hops, and some sweet toasted malts. Flavors of grapefruit, resiny hops, mango, some pine, caramel and toasted malts. Nice sweet malty backbone to match hop profile. About as good as an amber can get in my opinion.

On tap @ Barcade with James and Streets for the CCB event 09/11/2012. Dark glassy red, whatever head, sweet, beady, piney aroma, similar taste. Delicious, rich mouthfeel with notes of fresh citrus, grapefruit and possibly berry. Good noticeable malt base and a lingering caramel sweetness.

Entering old rates.

Thanks to Kevin for the bottle! Poured lighter orange with a short, sticky beige head. The aroma picked up a heavy dose of deep, juicy darker fruits, berries, and mango, with more of the mango on the back of the nose.. I enjoyed the fruit in there. The flavor found sweeter caramel to join the fruits (raspberries, mango, and some pineapple).. black pepper, pine resin, and mixed citrus bitterness around.. spicy and bitter on the long finish. Light-medium bodied, bitter, and fairly strong on the palate.. a touch cloying at times, but still really well done.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown ale with small frothy off white head. The aroma is fruity malt and cereal. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet fruity malt and biscuit with light dry finish. A good amber from CCB.

Pours turbid ruby brownish...the color of a blood stain after just drying, with 1-finger khaki head and a lot of floaties. Nose is barleywiney, with big resiny hops, some vinous fruit, and some old aley cobwebby malts. Tastes pretty rich, very hoppy, with notes of vinous fruit, black pepper, and finishing berry and earthy hints. This is a very complex and flavorfukl amber ale.

Bottle. Reddish-orange with a fine head. Nice citrus and pine hop nose, caramel, chocolate. Sweet malt flavor, caramel, slightly earthy, with a touch of cabbage. Tingly, earthy hop finish. Light, soft carbonation. Full and silky. Great balance.

Bottle thanks to my awesome neighbor Rodney. Pours deep amber-red with a creamy light beige head. Nose of sweet lemons, stewed mangos, and hop resin. A bit spicy as well. Taste adds malt sweetness, a bit too much. Surprisingly good overall.
