4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On draft at CCB. I have had this beer a few times, and I am really growing to like it more and more. Pours a hazy light amber to copper color with off-white one finger head. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of caramel, citrus, grapefruit, pine, light spice. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of citrus, caramel, grapefruit, floral esters. Medium body with a floral hop finish. Another great offering from CCB.
UPDATED: FEB 23, 2018 My personal rating #6111, a 12oz can from WineWorks. Nose medium caramel with a little toast, nuts, resin, decent hopping; pours copper but darkens to deep brown with ruby bottom and sudsy beige head. Taste light-medium sweet, low bitterness, flabby caramel malt, toast, resinous hopping with medium PNW citrus but a little green, not including the pine and spruce; hint of cocoa with more dough and lighter spice, though not in the Lagunitas mold. Fat and ill-defined shape, heavy full body with a lightly bitter dough-and-resin aftertaste (hints of cookie, chocolate, nuts, red berry, citrus). Medium alcohol showing. Needs to be tightened up. Canned November 14th 2017.
Pours really dark red amber, massive but manageable head of slow shrinking foam.
I get pine, grapefruit, caramel malt in the smell. More bitter than sweet but there's some semblance of balance.
Starts off bitter. Pine, resin like, grapefruit citrus, mid palate comes the caramel malt, finishes with both attributes.
Slick oily on the tongue, I like the mouthfeel.
Very good Red Ale. mike67 (1310) - , New Jersey, USA - JAN 31, 2018
12 oz can. Pours hazy red with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head. Aroma is of citrusy hops, caramel malt and tropical fruit. Body is full and tangy. Citrusy hops dominate the palate with caramel malt and tropical fruit provide support. Finish is long and dry. Great brew. ffaoe (1088) - Moorestown, New Jersey, USA - JAN 19, 2018

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2018 Draft at Khyber Pass. Murky rusty brown pour with beige foam. Spicy caramel malts with piney hop resins. Interesting mix of flavors. Black Forest cake. Wicker basket. Blood orange. Cinnamon. Leather. Kale. Spruce. Dried berries. Red pepper. Has a bit of a bite. Later sips taste sweet up front. Long bitter finish. Takes a while to warm up to but worth the effort. obguthr (7010) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - JAN 11, 2018

Rust and a little carmel like old candy you found in the seat of your friends beater. Hazy amber pour with decent head. Carpet lacing. Slightly tangy finish. Tap at Boxelder. oobawa (1971) - Tennessee, USA - DEC 25, 2017
Lovely red ale, hoppy as hell but with a mellow, rounded malt sweetness to pad the hefty bitterness that builds in the back end. Caramel, toasted bread, and hints of apple and cocoa lead to a formidable citric hop wall, grapefruit and orange adding a nice fruity balance before the pint transitions into a lingering bitter pine finish. Grows toasty and grainy, with the hops making their presence known deep into the fade. Creamy texture is to die for, while the looks are amazing, pouring a rich brown-red with a lasting off-white head and infinite lacing. Caramel, toasted grain, and citrus on the nose. Lovely pint.
