Flavor is good, nice roasty malts, some burnt toast, light charcoal, burmt citrus fruits, bitter hops.Yum yum yum hopscotch (11182) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUL 16, 2014
(Rating #8,800) Crowler... Pitch black pour with a mid-sized, creamy, tan head. Good retention. The bouquet is roasty, offering fudge, toasted tree nuts and a hint of vanilla moreso than the charcoal and dank hoppiness I was expecting. Full-bodied with tingly carbonation. The hops show up in the flavor – pine and deeply roasted malts. Not burnt and dank as most black IPAs. Reminiscent of Alpha Klaus by Three Floyds. ”Big ol’ can of beer” provided by burg326!

Draft at Tucker Duke’s Lunchbox in Deerfield Beach. Snifter. Pours a dark brown with a small beige head. Nice aroma of roasted malts, pine and pine resin, cloves, and anise. The flavor was close with a nice pine finish. Actually was close to the Wandering Pelican they produced. Great roasted finish as well. Medium light body, moderate carb. Great Black IPA.
