aroma is strongly potpourri. color is caramel clear. flavor is as expected, less like pie, more like a candle. a bit of a brandy like warmness, and some brown ale in the background. too sweet for me. sebletitje (10067) - Enghien, BELGIUM - SEP 17, 2012
Entering old rates. Draft @ CCB

out of a growler pours dark black like oil. no head, appears flat with a warm smell of brandy, and chocolate covered apples. tastes like the smell only warmer from the brandy. the sweetness from the apple really comes through on the after taste jcartamdg (3410) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 31, 2012
pours dark brown almost black with no head at all. Aroma of brandy, caramel and spices. Taste follows nose, this treatment really brings the spices to the forefront. Smooth and easy to drink for the abv yumyum (221) - barrie, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 4, 2012

4oz pour at Churchkey looks like rootbeer with zero head. Nice nose, apples, wood, caramel, cola. Flavor is sweet, butterscotch, cola, apple, light malt, brown sugar, caramel. Full bodied, lightly hot finish. I didn’t love the base beer but I liked this treatment. madmitch76 (24487) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JUN 9, 2012

Cheers Dave! Hazy red-amber beer. Moderate head and carbonation. Toffee nose, smooth silky palate. Rich bitterish toffee, caramel and repressed sugar. Rich brandy alcohol blending well with the bitter toffee. If there is any apple here it is subtle and well buried amongst the brandy flavours. Finishes a little salty and with licorice. Delicious!
Draft. Very dark maroon, almost flat. Aroma of Calvados! With subtle coffee and chocolate. Taste is tawny port, subtle lemon, caramel. Very nice. radagast83 (8019) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - JUN 7, 2012
Sampled a draft at Churchkey for the Bluejacket/Funky Buddha/Cigar City event during SAVOR week. Lots of malts, barley grain notes. Sweet malts. Interesting. Booze is pretty present there. oteyj (2139) - New Hampshire, USA - JUN 7, 2012
On tap at Churckey for the Funky Buddha and CCB event. Super dark brown with reddish hints. Big caramel and toffee lead to vinous dark fruits and hints of brown sugar and molasses. Thick body with low carbonation.
