COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We mashed up traditional English-style barley wine-style and old ale winter warmer-style ales with citrusy American hops like Simcoe, Centennial, Columbus, Chinook, Amarillo and, fittingly, Glacier, to create a Floridian Winter Ale.

Bottle. Poured hazy reddish brown color with a large frothy light brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt, toffee and chocolate aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted sweet malt flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where exceeded with a standout beer.

Dark brown pour with a tan head. Aroma of molasses and raisins. Caramel flavors, with dark fruit and good bourbon barrel flavor.

22oz bottle. Strong plum, molasses aroma and flavor. Can feel the alcohol. Nice combo of a quad with winter.

Tap at CCB, Tampa. Abv 12%. Copper color, small steady off-white head, lace. Aroma has dark sugar, malts and molasses. Medium-bodied to full-bodied. Very malty, dark fruity, plum, raisin, molasses and caramalt. Notes of fresh wood too. A bit too raw brew for my liking.

Bottle pour, 2013/2014 cellar- hopped barley wine with dark fruit backbone. Aroma still present however naturally must have mellowed with age. Dark brown colour with a touch of ethanol from alcohol however 10% abv masked quite nicely.

kathouse (1893) - LAS VEGAS, Nevada, USA - JAN 20, 2016
Advertised at 12% at the brewery. Spicy brown with aromas of cinnamon and nutmeg. A big beer to say the least. No head but good flavor makes up for the appearance. Best one so far.

Bottle from 2014. Pours a muddy deep brown with small head that lasted about 20 seconds. Aroma is fruity with plums, peaches, prunes, and currants with some slight booze and barrel. The taste is similar with the aromatic fruits, thick barleywine style ale, and some booze on the finish. Well balanced though. Medium to full body, moderate carb. Slightly sweet. Really a great beer.

Current bomber purchased at CCB. Pour is dark cola color with very little head, which disappears quickly. Not a distinct nose, but one that is rather sweet with hints of caramel and toffee. Taste is very sweet and sticky, in a b good way. The high ABV is well hidden. Nice sipper.

October 23, 2015 - taster glass sample at Darkness Eve. Bottle shared by me. Lots of head and much sweeter than I expected.
