The aroma is dry and whiskey like with coffee and wood. The appearance is dark with a small head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall a good beer. smith4498 (3676) - Winter Springs, Florida, USA - MAY 11, 2013
Draft @ the brewery. Pours dark brown/black color with tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, oak and whiskey. Lots of whiskey flavor with roasted malts and chocolate with some oak and a hint of smoke. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Palidor19 (3194) - Brandon, Florida, USA - MAR 10, 2013
Had this at the bar room. It's a very dark and toasty beer with a bitter taste. It's a medium palate but packs a nice punch

Tap at CCB. Pours a thin black with tan head. Big whiskey and roasted grain nose. Taste is light roasted malts and touches of whiskey. Tasty.

On draft at CCB for Huna Day 13’. Got a small sip from my buddies cup. Pitch black with a slight lacing. Little bit of whiskey aroma but mostly dry like a typical dry stout. Mouth feel was pretty flat, which kind of ruined it for me.

On tap at Hunah day 2013. Nose was pure whiskey and some roast with leather like aromas. It’s like someone burned your shoe and then tried to put out the fire with whiskey...which probably only make things worse...and make me mad because of the wasted whiskey. Anyways, flavor is quite similar with tannic qualities hidden behind whiskey and roasted notes. A bit thin on the palate. Not bad. Chipalsa (1310) - Florida, USA - MAR 10, 2013
This one was a winner with it’s full cocoa and whiskey flavors, and being only 5% abv. I didn’t get much whiskey in the aroma, but lots of cocoa, roasted malts and mellow oak were all there. Easy on the palate, while giving a decent whiskey-fix. HighWine (991) - Whalezbro, Illinois, USA - JUN 3, 2013
Nitro tap in a shaker at the taproom. Very dark brown, near black pour. Creamy beige head sits almost two fingers thick atop the elixir. I can smell whiskey from arms length. Up close the aroma reveals coffee and a tough of smoke alongside the whiskey. Taste is smokiest than expected. Lots of roast and charred oak. The whiskey isn’t as prominent as in the aroma. Light espresso flavors linger in the back of the throat. Much creamier mouthfeel than I’ve been accustomed to from the style. Leaves a light film on the tongue which is a nice quality of many CCB brews. Drinks bigger than it is which should please many who steer clear of Irish dry stouts because they lack body and flavor. This one lacks neither.
