Batch 1, bitch! Pours a brilliant, clear straw colour, offensively effervescent, and has the rockiest, whitest head I’ve EVER seen. Holy tits! I swear a gorilla nipple is popping out of my glass. Glob-a-dob-a-ding-dong lacing. The aroma stinks of the loveliest mildewy flowers. Spruce tips and some subdued zest in the nose as well. Tart, zesty, sprucey flavour with a nice, cheesy lactic tang. Minimal barrel character, but it would not really benefit from too much oak. Spritzy (but not abrasive) and thin bodied, yet velvety mouthfeel. Wet stone. Make a better sour wit than this. You won’t!

Crisp sour bretty nose with a touch of spice beneath. Whitish tinted yellow, whispy white above. Berliner weisse looking. Crisp, sour flavors...remarkably clean and refreshing, seriously...even a touch salty around the edges...way more a super sour berliner than a witbier...I mean, I think I detected some of the spices in the nose but flavorwise is all crisp clean sourness...citrusy, lactic, bretty...this is a god damned fantastic beer. Thanks to lushawn for the bottle.

Rubber aroma, citrus, grapefruit, oaky, grapes, sourish fruity notes, cream, barnyard, leather, sour, woody, pine, some banana and some hay, lemongrass notes. Sourish citrus finish, grapefruit, hay, lemongrass and some oak. Just plain wonderful!

Bottle enjoyed at the bruery with friends. Pours a hazy straw with a small white head. Aroma is lemony, woodsy funk. Flavor is pleasantly tart and plenty funky, this beer is all about the oak and bugs. Light bodied and spritzy.

Thanks to bmanning for sharing this with Amyliz4, hhanson, Azurelimits, and me at a recent tasting. A: Pours a bright, transparent citrus yellow with a bit of golden haze. Nice white head throughout. S: Spicy belgian yeast, bit of oak, and plenty of citrus. Some nice wheat tartness coming through as well. T: Very nice oak character comes in atop the tart citrus and wheat characteristics. Incredibly complex for a witbier. Some nice Belgian spice makes its way in as well. M: Light-to-medium body, although pretty heavy for a witbier. The wheat and oak combine to create a nice dryness. D: Very drinkable. Probably the best version of the style that I’ve had. Wholeheartedly agree with Ben that I’d love to see more barrel-aged light beers like this, as I have almost uniformly enjoyed the barrel-aged lighter beers that I’ve come across. SilkymuthafuckinTodd popped this late in the day at bas release and it was a fantastic choice for late in the day. Bright hazy light amber with small white head. Nose is bright sunshine and polka dot bikini at the beach on a 19 year old coed. Taste is tart heavenly goodness and a flowing summer skirt as the sun sets over the pacific. Love it.

Pours gold into a tumbler. Bright white micro head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Funky oak and tropical fruit aromas. Tart summer fruit upfront turning to yeast and oak in the lasting sour finish.
