UPDATED: JUL 4, 2014 Bottle, caged and corked, celebrating the Ravens’ first-round victory. Pours like an appertif, shiny and dark red, barely any carbonation or head whatsoever. Very medicinal aroma. Tastes like what you’d expect it to taste if was cherry juice aged in oak barrels. But I’d personally like some more body. This may have been in my beer cooler for a while, but certainly no longer than a year. It should still have some more body. (#4892, 1/6/2013) OmegaX (1374) - Florida, USA - NOV 3, 2012
Thanks for the share! This one has a tart aroma with a light sour cherry aroma and tons of oak. Pour is reddish with the usual, almost non existent head. Taste is lightly tart, tons of oak, and a fruity backbone. Nice. Lukaduke (3206) - Gray, Maine, USA - NOV 3, 2012
Draft at Novare Res. Pours a deep cherry red with a touch of pink foam. Aromas are tart cherry, vinous, with some tannic barrel funk. On the palate it has anice big ripe cherry pie back bone that holds firm and lets some barrel funk and warm spices of cinnamon and nutmeg sneak through on the mid to late palate. Great mouthfeel even with a low carbonation factor...smooth funky and inviting ! Chipalsa (1310) - Florida, USA - NOV 2, 2012
A beer from my homeland - score!!! This was a delicate sour ale. The aroma is a lot of oak and vanilla with traces of cherries. Cherries was obviously the flavor, but indirectly, masked by soft oak and wood. The finish is clean and tart, JUST under the amount that would make you pucker up. Thanks guy for sharing this one. Bottle as shown. Pours a clear amber with small white head. The aroma is cherry and yeast. Thin mouthfeel with a strong funk and tart with nice light sour finish. Easy to drink a good sour ale from Cisco. magsinva (1250) - Virginia, USA - AUG 19, 2012
Bottle from whole foods McLean - holding it up to the light it’s clear ruby red with minimal head. Aroma is funky cherries. Taste is very sour/tart. Palate is thin. Overall, a good example of the style, but not something I would drink in large quantities. Lubiere (13898) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 16, 2012
A reddish burgundy mahogany kriek with a very thin brown head. In aroma, beautiful cerise confite, with light acidity, seltzer, smooth caramel. In mouth, a smooth sweet caramelized cherries with lactic acids, maraschino, lemon juice, very smooth and complex. Tasted mid June 2012. arminjewell (9635) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - AUG 11, 2012
Pour out of 750 mL bottle, huge big thanks to Dave for the pour. Clear orange-red pour with thin to no head, aroma has notes of big funky basement, cheese, hints of dust, slight lemon and lactic sour notes, nice tart cherry skin and black cherry notes, hints of raspberry as well, touch of vanilla, amazing. Taste is super nice cherry skin and pit, some sour and black cherry, raspberry, hints of blackberry, some nice sour lemon, lactic notes with a hint of acetic burn but not bad, slight funky notes but overall very clean, hints of cracker and vanilla. Nice fine carbonation plays well, this is very well crafted. Huhzubendah (3705) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 3, 2012
Bottle shared by mdfb79. Thanks Dan!
A: This beer pours a deep ruby hue with a quarter inch of white head that leaves some decent lacing behind.
S: Really fabulous aroma of tart cherries and some funk.
T: A very tasty brew, with flavors of oak, tart cherries, and funk.
M: Acetic and a bit biting, in the best possible way. The mouthfeel is otherwise light.
D: A very tasty beer. I would definitely have this again.
