It poured black and opaque with a huge tan head, a result of the bottle conditioning I guess. A bit of a sour finish was my first impression. my second sip was a concentrated effort to to find something else. What I found was it is thin, for a Porter, not much of a mouthfeel, light and gassy and (forgive me) but a faint salty taste. Sorry I can’t recommend this one. The 25.4 ounce bottle was more than I could finish in one sitting, some of it went down the drain.
This is a very good Porter. I'm not sure if it is still being made in 2017. If you like this style beer you will enjoy the rich malt profile. Cheers!

22 oz bottle shared over dinner. If this is their version of a "porter" I should try their stout. Drinks, pours and looks like a stout. Opaque and dark with a thin tan head. Thick and somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Low carbonation. Smooth. Notes of coffee and chocolate first with subtle earth, spice and bit of roast and smoke for good measure. Black with a well appointed tan covering.
Nose is dark malt, vegetal notes, earthy, touch of hoppage, a little washed out.
Taste comprises chocolate, sweet licks, none of the veggy aroma coming through thankfully, light coffee, hoppy notes, faint citrics.
Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with earthy hop notes.
Ok - the nose let this one down a few notches, also a little overly sweet.

GBBF Day 4. Cask. Opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Mild dark malts with a touch of dark chocolate. Mild coffee and lactose. Light dry finish. Good.

Opaque, some lace.
Light body, smooth and delicate mouthfeel and flavor, little carbonation, rather flat,
Mildly bitter, dry, acidity not in evidence and perhaps lacking,
Definite but not overpowering roast flavors,
Pleasant but not exciting.

September 2010. 22 oz. bottle. Dark brown, almost black. Chocolate, dark roasted malt, spicy aromas. Robust, bitter and hoppy finish. Very good.
