COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ed. Note: Although this beer was originally an American Golden Ale, after a short period of time the brewer changed the yeast strain, and it is now a lager. This 126 calorie lager with wonderful balance and strong hop finish is unlike most light beers. Reminiscent of an IPA but smooth and easy to drink.
It is named after the famous lighthouse that has stood on a bluff on the south eastern side of Nantucket Island since 1849. Perched precariously 88 feet above the raging Atlantic Ocean, Sankaty Head Light is in danger of falling prey to beach erosion. The lighthouse is the most powerful in New England.

12 oz bottle. Pours light amber in colour, good head, long retention. Has nice floral hops aroma. Flavour is balanced, not too hoppy, a little on the sweet side.

Bottle. Note: my bottle seemed to be completely infected with diacytl. The beer exploded from the bottle when opened. In need of a re-rate.

Bottle. Pours gold with a fluffy white head. The aroma is light and malty with a touch of citrus. The flavor is crisp, clean, and well balanced, with caramel malt and citrusy hops. Nice.

Golden in coloration, hints of cereal. I ended the night with one of these last weekend and feel its about time I put my two cents in since I have been drinking it on and off for a while. Not a bad beer for a "light beer", tastes better than most light beers but has more calories.

Maybe a bit too light for me, but this is what the big brewers should aspire to for the mass market. A touch of hops and malt, easy to drink

(Bottle). Hoppy citrus aroma. Hazy orange-amber body, lots of sediment, huge white head. Flavor is tart, citrusy, very pleasant. Nice one.

It is indeed like an "IPA lite". There are ghostly wisps of piney citrus hops, but it is quite light on the tongue. Pretty good, and would be great on a hot day.

Bottle @ Eastern Standard Boston before sox/yanks game. It has a good hop profile for a light beer. A bit thin in the body and the overall flavor is un-complex and straightforward. If the temps are climbing north of 90 this is a good option to cool yourself down. You don’t even feel bad drinking it out of the bottle.

Not thrilled with this one. Surprised to see it rated so highly. I guess Im just not into this style much. Oh well. The other BOM brews were pretty good.

Bottle. Pours a light golden color with a tint of hops. Typical sweet lager with a mild bitter finish. Skip this one.
