Tan to off white head. Nice head retention and lacing. Aroma is sweet roasted malts and holiday spice. Deep Amber color. Beautiful fluffy head and lacing. Taste of deep roasted malts and sweet complexity. spices of nutmeg and ginger with a bitter hop finish. well balanced for a big beer. I really like it! Bottle. Poured clear ruby color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate nutmeg, spice sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a dry sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium spice sweet flavor with a medium sweet spice finish of moderate duration. Interesting beer. 12oz bottle. Labeled 8%. Rep described this as a braggot, though it says nothing about that on the bottle. Clear dark red color. One-finger thick khaki head. Leaves good lace. Bigger body. Lighter, kind of crisp carbonation. More dry finish. Very spice forward, lots of nutmeg. Sweet, caramel malt, some dark fruit, and a spicy herbal bitter taste. Toasty malt. Light metallic. Big, assertive spicy and bitter flavor, but overall, not a great winter spice beer. I suspect casual beer drinkers might be more turned off by this than beer geeks, as it’s a bit aggressive... Tones down a bit after it sits and warms up a bit, though (or maybe my palate adjusts) Beergeek23322 (2602) - Chester, Virginia, USA - NOV 22, 2013
2/27/2013. From bottle. Copper color with a white head. Aromas of spices, caramel and light malt. Light fruity flavors with caramel and spices. It’s an OK beer, but doesn’t really stand out in any way. BREWMUSKCLES (2698) - New Jersey, USA - SEP 25, 2013
a brown brew with red hue. flavor of aged wine and rum with caramel and a bit of nut. some slick in the body. seems like it has more alcohol. it is not bad beer at all. one year old bottle. yes a bit of earth.

Nice slightly hazy bronze and copper coloured body with a very nice ruby and orange tint with a thinnish tan head - pretty nice looking. Aroma of malt, caramel, toffee, nuts, earth, hints of metal and a decent amount of alcohol tucked inside. Medium-bodied; Assertive earthy and metallic malty flavours at first with a deep toffee and caramelised sugar flavour and some harsh bitterness near the end with earth coming out most. Aftertaste has the slightest hint of spices, but this is all about the caramelised sugars and the earthy malt with hints of peat and the smallest amount of hop bitterness thrown in. Overall, a decent beer - good for the wintertime, but not stellar by any means. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 13-July-2013 for US$2.00 sampled at home in Washington on 25-July-2013. 12 ounce bottle from Beer Run. Pours a clear reddish copper color with a thin tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of caramel malts, some toast and a spicy finish. The taste is spice, apples, toasted malts, caramel. Medium bodied. Nekronos (4174) - Xalapa, MEXICO - APR 22, 2013
Was not bad. Veyr nice and spicy in aroma. NOt hot but vey rich in extra ingredientss at least. INTeresting one. Brewdork (228) - Sanford, Florida, USA - MAR 28, 2013
Pours deep copper with a small tan head. Aroma toffee with skunky notes. Flavor has a bit of nutmeg up front, but it’s quickly clobbered by an unpleasant wave of resiny bitterness. Aftertaste is worse... and long-lasting to boot. There aren’t a lot of beers I don’t enjoy on some level. this is one. czar (9172) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 26, 2013
bottle from VT, thanks. pours clear copper orange with a nice light beige head, decent retention and lacing. good dose of caramel and toffee, relatively dry, oranges, spices - good belgium spiciness imitation btw, few garbagy notes, very boozy, pepper, yeast. soft carbonation, light to medium body, medium hopping - grassy-piney kind of harsh finish, maybe some astringent tea.
