2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
A typical winter ale in that it has notes of nutmeg, cinnamon, and pours a deep dark color with a mild head. Not to shabby.
Pours a brown/black from a bottle, aroma is of a licorice-y brown sugar. Flavor is cola, specifically moxie, very sweet and a little bitter. Okay beer. ccex (1370) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 31, 2016
12 oz bottle pours a hazy chestnut brown with moderate off-white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is full of bready malts, cooked vegetables, spices, and perhaps prunes. Taste is neither bitter nor sweet, with a lively spicy finish. Alcohol is noticeable, but does not burn as much as the spices and carbonation tingle. At first I thought of a barleywine, then a pumpkin beer. Body is medium to full. Not bad for a $1 beer on the past-prime closeout shelf! evinal (78) - Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 9, 2016
Can. Spice notes in the aroma were minimal Large head, moderate lacing, cararmel color malt heavy spice notes. Palette was full a little cloying.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass. Aroma is bread and caramel malts with citrus and floral hops. Appearance is light hazy dark copper with trace sparkle, minimal white ring of a head, no lacing. Taste is moderately sweet malt with spice and balanced with floral/citrus bitter. Palate is medium bodied with average texture and average to lively carbonation with roasted, lightly bitter finish. Overall, not a real standout but a nice winter beer. Fredis23 (568) - Hickory Hills, Illinois, USA - JAN 10, 2016
Dark Red Amber Color, Huge Foamy Head, Lots Of Thick Soapy Lacing. Aroma of Spice, Cooked Vegetables, Hops. Sweet Malt, Cooked Vegetables, Spices, Hops.Somewhat Reminds Me of Pumpkin Beers. Hides High ABV Real Well. Very fitting to have it on a last day of inter although we have a long way to go this year, No spring in Sight Yet... While this brew was just OK on First Sips, It Grew on me. It may not be my favorite ,It grew on me and I did enjoy it. I dig it. Worth A Try.

Bottle. Dark amber in color. Very large head. Aroma is weird. Spicy yet kind of slight funk. Taste is spice yet strong hop finish. rondphoto (4494) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - APR 2, 2015
bottle @ Party Town / Florence --- Clear amber brown color, light beige head cover, bands of lace. Taste is Malt with spice, carbonation, and finally, mild hops in the finish. Not very appealing, as the malt takes on a patina of cedar before the finish, diminishing any positive attributes. Matt_Foran (102) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - JAN 31, 2015
A nice winter warmer style beer. On aroma you can pick up malts, spices. On the taste you can pick up some dark fruit, more spices and malts. It has a nice palate also. Beerathon (1681) - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 8, 2015
Listed as a braggot on Untappd, but no matter its classification, I dig it. Chestnut color with thin head and lacing. Some hop presence, toffee, spices, almost a lighter barley wine flavor. scooterbub (1068) - Lander, Wyoming, USA - DEC 28, 2014
12 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy amber with half inch light tan head that lasts. Taste is of malt, caramel, nuts, spice, hops, coriander, nutmeg and ginger. Similar aroma. Has a decent body with a boozy finish. Enjoyable seasonal offering.
