Named after the coulter big cone pine tree is a well balanced I.P.A. It brings the style of I.P.A. back to its roots. Brewed with a hint of rye for head retention and a deeper malt character, this brew has the best of all worlds, great hop aroma, a strong body and deceiving strength.

New batch has a lot of pungent hop aroma, great rye on the palate without being overwhelming. Pretty surprised by the alcohol content. Easy to put down, not to be missed.

Note on the labels, they seem to have changed branding a little bit and I like the new labels a lot. The beer is also awesome. Great example of a West Coast style IPA. Citrus, light-body, more aroma than bitterness, but definitely still tickles your taste buds. Love it!

Poured from a bottle. Deep gold with a hint of orange. White head with lots of lacing. Fruity aroma. The rye comes through in the taste. Decent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

50cl bottle. Large off-white head atop muddy amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, pine, some rye, grapefruit, light bread. Taste is moderately sweet, pine, some grapefruit, rye, light berry, faint alcohol. Medium body, some resin.

500ml bottle pours a pale amber color with a generous white head that retains well and leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is pine and citrus with a hint of grains and other light fruits. Taste is a big pine and grapefruit hop bitterness with a more subdued caramel and fruity sweetness. Medium bodied with ample carbonation that tickles the tongue. Overall, this is a true delight. Recommended.

"Tastes like stale pineapples and cat pee", I blurted out to my roommate when I took my first sip of this. Not to suggest this beer is badly done - it has a round, full nose, interesting flavor profile, and a nice smooth finish that isnt too bitter. I guess I just dont care for the hop profile they used. I cant find information about what that is, but it doesnt seem to be my thing.

Bottle. Its never a great sign when beer erupts from the bottle like a capped volcano. And this initially poured as 80% foam. It eventually settled into a hazy, golden-amber glass, with a defiant cap of rocky foam. Theres little to no distinguishable aroma. The beer drinks cleanly, with whispers of earthy and malty ales of the past. Hints of pine leaf, caramel and malt. Subtle sweet finish. (#5971, 5/17/2015)

Bottle from Bottle Dog, Kings X, London. Poured a clear amber colour crowned with an off-white head. Nose had some grapefruit, earthy hop and melon but a bit muted. Flavour was similar with a little rye and a solid sweet malt spine. Hops somehow a little smothered. Bitternes ok, but not completely satisfying. Ok IPA if a tad disappointing.

Bier ruikt lekker fris naar citrus. Koperkleurig. Fris bittere smaak die lang blijft hangen. Lekker !

Bomber into nonic pint. Hazy deep orange. Light head. Aroma of big sappy pine, flowers and actually smells like a good cologne I used to have: Polo Blue. Dang this is potent...must have dry-hopped the heck out of it. Taste is of pine needles, earth, bubblegum, grapefruit, mango, grass and caramel rolls. Very complex. Nice medium mouthfeel.
