500mL bottle, pours a cloudy dark orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out spicy rye, earthy notes and a little hoppiness. Flavour is quite earthy, with notes of rye, earthy notes and a little hops. Nothing special but works well. Okay. andrewje41 (4153) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - FEB 5, 2016
22 oz bottle poured at Eugene’s. Cloudy copper pour with a rocky head. Caramel malt forward aroma. Flavor is on the sweet side with caramel overpowering the rye. Dry, wood finish. Overall, a tasty beer. daknole (11050) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - DEC 26, 2015
Amber color, off white head. Hoppy up front and it carries throughout. Resinous, citrusy, lightly grassy.

Hazy amber with a thin white foam. Immediately you’re hit by the hop aroma and then floored by the hop bitterness. This is a hop head dream. Pine, citrus, white fruit and more bitterness. Huge. nealblind (1965) - Seattle, Alabama, USA - JUL 16, 2015
glowing red orange. aroma lactic caramel potato chips. Flavor Pine gusher pineapple caramel, oak, whiskey. Flavor is out of whack very strong in multiple directions too bitter too sweet. Should be called a barley wine. Lighter in body than barleywine douglas88 (9568) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 14, 2015
Bottle at Whole Foods. Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head. A big fruity nose, resin and oak. The flavor is really sweet sticky hops, much like a cedar aged brew, spicy, some sugary, pine, sharp perfume. Solid beer. raphael (1286) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 3, 2015
aromas of resin, alcohol & caramel. bright orange with solid yellowish head. favors of whiskey, peach, caramel & oak. A little flat Full-flavored finish.

One of six beers on a flight at Bru Grill and Market, Lake Forest, Orange County on 21st May 2015. Impressive stuff, really enjoyed this. Amber pour with a minimal topping. Aroma and taste was a blend of sweet malty molasses (caramel and toffee notes) and floral hops (with a bitter edge). Interesting and different, the sort of beers I love to try. The alcohol is hidden well by the depth of flavours but you know it is there and it adds to the enjoyment and suits the brew nicely.
