COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer was formerly known as "Cismontane California Common Pilot #1"

The California Common almost disappeared after prohibition as did the term Cismontane. Our interpretation of this style is a golden warm fermented lager with sufficient hop aroma. As a brewer and citizen of Cismontane California it is our obligation to produce a fine California Common.

Bottle. Sour barley malt and hay aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Sweet cherry toffee malt and bitter herbal grass flavor. Medium body. Fruity and hoppy.

500 ml bottle. Pours a hazy amber orange colour with a large foamy head. Aroma of grains, wet earth, grass and yeastiness. Flavour of grainy malts, grassy bitterness, some orange sweetness, mild herbal notes and yeast. Light bodied and a bit harsh carbonation. Decent.

50 cl bottle.
Pours golden color with a large head. Slightly herbal aroma, grassy and moderately hoppy, some faint pale malts too. Flavor is also grassy and herbal, some orange and lemon with faint pine and malts. Fairly easy to drink, strong carbonation. Maybe a bit too harsh bitterness in the end though.

"A bready semi sweet, light ale with a decent hop presence (enough to balance). Crisp and clean on the palate. Pleasant, but not a standout..........."

Ontape (471) - Valley Village, California, USA - AUG 16, 2014
Draft. Pours a lively, clear amber. Nose gives off fruity eaters, touch of caramel. Taste is just a bit sweet but not overly. Getting some banana in there somewhere and just a touch of hops. Drinks a bit oily maybe but certainly not offensive.

Idiosynkrasie (7967) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - AUG 15, 2014
500ml bottle. Barely clear, orangey golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Minimally grainy, pale malty aroma, herbal hoppy overtones with gone astray freshness and soapy interlude, cautious, not easy to nuzzle hints of mustard-like yeasty, spiciness. Taste is moderately bitter and herbal hoppy, malty and yeasty spicy, peppery, subtle malt sweetness; soft palate. A pimped Dortmunder.

Ragnampiza (757) - Rome / Lecce, ITALY - AUG 8, 2014
500 ml bottle from Les Vignerons. Dark sunrise orange, quite hazy, with an average, creamy, moderately persistent off white head. On the nose toasted malts, light nuttiness, some mild fruit notes, bread and cereals. A hint of burnt caramel as well. Decent sweetness, pleasent but faint bitterness, quite malty and nutty upfront, slightly more fruity and soapy in the aftertaste. Average carbonation, medium body, creamy texture. So so.

Clear gold - amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and mildly crisp. Smooth malts, little cream. Whisper of banana ester. Very mellow orange hops. Light finish with a very mild bitter linger. Tastes more like a mellow apa than a lager. But decent.

16oz bottle. Cloudy unfiltered orange-tan. Foamy off-white head. Pretty light bodied for the style at first, but the unique high temperature lager tones kind of come through after a few sips. Not that exciting, but a decent example of the style. It was also only 1.99 so my expectations weren’t so high. No off flavors, clean and easy.

Bottle from Birratrovo, Como
Light amber color with small head. The malt is well present for a Lager, with a caramellish side, evident in both aroma and taste; impression of raw cereals. Strong bitterness. Clean.
