COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer was formerly known as "Cismontane California Common Pilot #1"

The California Common almost disappeared after prohibition as did the term Cismontane. Our interpretation of this style is a golden warm fermented lager with sufficient hop aroma. As a brewer and citizen of Cismontane California it is our obligation to produce a fine California Common.

An orange copper color on the pour with a light frothy head. Hints of citrus fruits flavors and has a very low carbination as well. A slight hop taste on the palate to finish. O.K overall.

Grass, corn, wet granite. Medium light palate. Feltlike a hybrid pale lager/Cali common. Not bad. Can from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia.

Can at home from Freshfields in Croydon. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Aroma is grass, malt, peach and a little Sour note. Taste is butterscotch, toffee, malt and a little grass. Not too bad.

Looks nice, smell is nothing. This has a sour note to it, as if it’s souring as it gets past the fresh phase. Might have to pour this out.

Keg at The Pint Shop, Oxford. Hazy gold with white head. There was a slightly harsh, metallic bitterness from the start of this, tinny and relatively thin. Not really for me.

On 23rd May 2016 I visited the Rancho Santa Margarita home of Cismontane Brewing and had a very pleasant flight of six beers, this beer being one of them. Misty old gold with a wispy white head. Halfway between a flavourless lager and a flavourless ale. I might be being unfair because of the five heavy hitters it sat with on my flight, but it just seemed bland and boring to me. Scored objectively.

Bottle - pours orange white head head - nose/taste of steamed malt, citrus, baked bread, orange peel - medium body.

Pour is a cloudy copper with a small white head. Aroma is a decent bready malt with some notes of caramel. Flavor is a thin malt with a little vegetal which is not horrible just kind of odd. Finish is super dry with a clean almost non-existent remnant of anything left behind after the swallow. This was fine, nothing off about the beer it was just a little thin all around.

Bomber from Delhi Liquor Store, tasted on January 1, 2016. Very hazy orange/yellow hue, somewhat tart sweet bready aroma, tart bittersweet flavor flavor with some bready character and some astringency. Interesting, but not like any other beer of this style I’ve ever had.

Sampled at CBO’s tasting. This is not a great beer. some metalic flavors and soft malts. Soft fruit and yeast. Not a lot going on.
