Tan head on an amber body. From the start, this beer gives an impression of freshness and esy-drinking qulities. Fruity, citrus notes, combined with a creamy quality. Leaves a very nice impression. Very drinkable. A nice surprise from Italy. thebeertourist (5189) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 31, 2006
75 cl bottle at Mentana 104, Parma. Cloudy bronze-brown colour with a creamy offwhite head. Raisins and potent nutty nose. sweet fruity flavours, met by semi-dryish strong nuttiness. Medium body. Lives up to its name. omhper (25108) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - MAR 12, 2005
Bottled. Mahogany colour. Aroma of burnt malt and strawberries. Sweet, fruity and richly malty with rounded, soapy mouthfeel. There’s grass and licorice in a tarry bitterfinish. Really good! Dedollewaitor (16158) - Odense, DENMARK - OCT 12, 2010

Beautiful dark amber color; persistent creamy head. Aromaof malt and cereals. Good body strength, medium sweetness, good malt and caramel taste, supported by a good bitterness level. A solid and very pleasant Strong Belgian Ale. Kita (2147) - Koper, SLOVENIA - APR 3, 2013
Bottled, 0.33l. Hazy pale brown color with thick creamy tan-like head and yeast residue that don’t want to settle down easily. Aroma of caramel, dark and tropical fruits, yeast, mild roast, alcohol and candy sugar. Taste starts sweet and sour fruity, then followed by spicy malt and refreshing vinous sourness. Mouthfeel is warm, while finish is somehow metallic bitter with irony and spicy aftertaste. Full body, oily texture and soft carbonation in palate. It might have some flaws, but I found it very attractive... JorisPPattyn (9982) - Ursel, BELGIUM - NOV 20, 2006
For once, may they forgive me, rated from memory Dark brown beer with good, but not persistent dark yellow head. Very dark malty and spicey nose, totally in the Ardennes style. Nose gets fully confirmed with earthy, leafy, dry-spicey and near coffee notes. Completely in the Achouffe/Fantome/Du Bocq style, including a hint of too many fusels. Less fuller bodied than the taste would have you, a bit thinnish, connecting with a touch of sourness at the swallowing. Named after the beer of Maigret - hence the Walloon character?

Very sweet and sour beer, a bit too sweet for me.. Aroma: caramel, hay, citrus, herbs, banana, raisin, vanilla, with a long aftertaste. Nice but not convincing enough..
