1.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Poured a light gold with minimal head and lacing. Aroma was the high point here with a slight sweetness with grains/grassy hues. Taste is mix of grains and slight malts with a light hop finish. Palate is decent for a light. Overall, a slightly unusual light but not so different in other ways.
UPDATED: APR 3, 2016 Light bodied. Poured into tumbler cup, pale color. I sense some stinky cheese, there is really no bitterness to this beer from what I taste. Tricountybeer (167) - Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 14, 2012
Nearly no aroma, yellow, clear, no head. Moderate, creamy mouth feel. Pleasant light hop flavor with a sweet aftertaste.
overall good beer Haslinger (929) - The World of Beer, Texas, USA - JAN 30, 2008
Boring bland beer that is incredibly cheap to buy so that is its one and only selling point. Woudln’t ever buy again IlanMan (1015) - Appleton, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 28, 2008
This beer was pretty terrible. Tasted watery just like any other light beer. THis however didn’t offend anyone by the taste because there was no taste. Basically carbonated water and alcohol. Won’t buy again.

Delightfully cheap, only ten dollars a case, this light beer has a deep yellowish gold hue with minimal head when poured. The first 6 are hard to stomach until you aquire a taste for BigCity. I would only buy this beer if you are financially strained. RSRIZZO (1986) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - SEP 23, 2007
Had this beer on 6/6/2007. Aroma is a light corn like scent. Color is a bright gold with low carbonation and a thin head. Taste is malty and sweet. Starting with a light body it goes down easy and clean. Finish comes in with a sweet malt flavor and ends with a wine like flavor that is a bit sour. Its just lacking everywhere. UPDATED: MAY 5, 2007 12 oz can, looks just like the ice can but a little bit lighter blue. I’m not too excited about this because the big city ice and city lager were not really acceptable in flavor nor aroma. This stuff was 30 cents a can at Beer & Pop for less in Moon Twp. On the front of this can it says Big City Light Premium Lager. Lighter corn aroma than the regular lager as a matter of fact it may even smell a little sweet and metallic. When you pour it into your mug it has the ubiquitous gallant pale yellow american lager color and head. The head fades rapidly to yield a tea like froth on top. The taste of this is suspicious, its definitely more acceptable than the city lager and ice. Better behaved but not as well behaved as I would like for a good cheap lager. I’m hesitant to call this good but at least it is not annoying like the other city lagers. The carbonation is medium sparkling feels pretty good going down the back of the throat. More personality than most light lagers. It even seems a bit chewy! Finish has a very low bitterness that appears on the uvula but is not lingering. This is the best tasting and most acceptable city lager out of the three that I have had. However, this does not approach the taste of Schmidt’s, Carlsburg, Straub or Old German. Good price but there are other beers out there that taste a little better for the same price. I’m surprised this is a 3.4% beer, taste is more alky than that.
