Can from Belmont Beverage in Fort Wayne, IN. Poured an amber color with a moderate frothy white head that diminished quickly with virtually no lacing. Average sour grainy hop aroma. Light body with a watery texture. Light sweet flavor with a small sweet finish of short duration. Would not recommend this to a freind. JPDIPSO (6223) - Wauwatosa, USA - JUN 14, 2004
Light straw color with a fizzy spritzy diminishing white head. Light grain, hint of hops and soap. Watery in feel and flavor. Light plastic flavors late. thedm (6184) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - JUN 13, 2004
This canned brew poured a large white head of fine to medium sized mostly lasting softly carbonated bubbles that left behind a poor lacing. The body was a softly carbonated transparent light orange color. The aroma was very mildly malty. The palate was mildly tingly at the start with a smooth malt hop finish. It has some flavor actually. Not bad for a light beer. I found it hard to add more to the description of the flavor. cheap (5861) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 28, 2007
UPDATED: MAY 5, 2007 12 oz can, looks just like the ice can but a little bit lighter blue. I’m not too excited about this because the big city ice and city lager were not really acceptable in flavor nor aroma. This stuff was 30 cents a can at Beer & Pop for less in Moon Twp. On the front of this can it says Big City Light Premium Lager. Lighter corn aroma than the regular lager as a matter of fact it may even smell a little sweet and metallic. When you pour it into your mug it has the ubiquitous gallant pale yellow american lager color and head. The head fades rapidly to yield a tea like froth on top. The taste of this is suspicious, its definitely more acceptable than the city lager and ice. Better behaved but not as well behaved as I would like for a good cheap lager. I’m hesitant to call this good but at least it is not annoying like the other city lagers. The carbonation is medium sparkling feels pretty good going down the back of the throat. More personality than most light lagers. It even seems a bit chewy! Finish has a very low bitterness that appears on the uvula but is not lingering. This is the best tasting and most acceptable city lager out of the three that I have had. However, this does not approach the taste of Schmidt’s, Carlsburg, Straub or Old German. Good price but there are other beers out there that taste a little better for the same price. I’m surprised this is a 3.4% beer, taste is more alky than that. heemer77 (5358) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - JAN 19, 2005
UPDATED: MAY 23, 2008 In the can and called Brew City Light. A thin white head. Very pale and light color with a few bubbles. Aroma is metallic with green beans. The taste is a malty bit of corn. It also has some more sweetness than you would expect. On tap at the brewery, this was called Local Light and slightly better. It is the same as City Light, but with rice instead of corn. At least that was how the head brewer explained it to me.

Can. Large sized white head and fine-large sized bubbles that mostly diminished. Very little carbonation, transparent and yellow hue. Malty aroma and a sweet, malty and watery flavor. Smooth, watery and thin mouthfeel. Light bodied beer with fair lacing Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - MAR 19, 2005
This is the new cheapest beer by the case back at my college town. $7 and change for a 24 pack. No wonder its so cheap- 3.4% abv? wtf? It still tasted harsh and crappy, but since it was watered down so much you wont get drunk as fast and wont get nearly as bad of a hangover. Nice beer for playing drinking games though. UPDATED: JUN 6, 2007 12oz can-Big City Light A light beer on a golden color with a head that dissipates quickly. An aroma of corn and burnt charcoal. A taste of corn and more corn. Very light in body and taste. Drew (2411) - Kent, Ohio, USA - JUL 27, 2004
From Thedm’s "6-pack of Death" - can #2 - Hey - this isn’t quite as bad as Busch NA. Very very thin. very light yellow. very fizzy. Some sweet malt - the taste is barely there. ElGaucho (2401) - Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA - JUL 6, 2003
A little darker in color than the La Crosse Light and definitely better. City Light is made from the same recipe as the original Special Export Light. Not a bad value proposition considering the low price. When in La Crosse, I would definitely buy this before Bud Light.
