Definately my favorite brew that is always on tap @ City Steam. Nice golden color, crisp start, slightly hoppy finish. The first time I tasted it, i thought it was good, but not amazing. But it kept growing on me, and now its my "go-to" beer at the steam. BuckNaked (1230) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - SEP 14, 2005
On draught at brewery: Slightly hazy pale golden color with a medium white head that sticks with a good amount of lacing. The aroma is subtle overall, but shows scents of floral hops, grains, and yeast. It’s slightly sweet overall, but again we’re talking subtle here. The taste is quite crisp from start to finish. There’s notes of mild yeast, grains, sweet pilsner malt, biscuit, and floral/spicy hops. Light bodied, medium-lively forced carbonation, very crisp. scraff (2125) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - SEP 14, 2007
Tap at the source - Golden, white fizzy head. Light floral nose with hints of nutty earth, grains, and faint apple skins. Flavor was crisp and dry with notes of peppery earthy florals from start to finish. Light bodied, prickly carbonation, soft bitter finish. Well crafted and easy drinking... On draught at the brewpub. Pours gold with a white lasting head. Smells of biscuits, some wildflowers, hints of fruit, some pepper. Tastes very malty with some nice dry notes. Good for the style. ClarkVV (6967) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - APR 14, 2005
On draught at the brewery, 4/13/05. Hazy white-gold color, but still quite bright and pleasant looking. Large white head is slowly dissipating to cover, with plenty of lace. Smells of crisp yeast, fresh, floral hops and honey, with a hint of earthiness. Flavor, from the start, integrates the crisp lager yeast, pilsener malt and rustic hops well, with no wateriness and a good medium body. A touch of graininess on the end, mild astringency, but overall a true, if somewhat light, flavor. Some notes of saaz perhaps, with a touch of oranges. Mouthfeel is bubbly and sharp at times, but nothing out of style. I really enjoyed this one, yet it is such a challenging style to brew and even a well-made, enjoyable brew like this does not begin to measure up to the better examples of this style, IMHO.

Draft. Pours gold with a white head. Relatively clean, grainy malts, low bitterness, low sweetness, and quite drinkable. Pretty good. AirForceHops (8037) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 11, 2015
Draft at the brew pub 1/09/2014. Clear golden color with thin lasting head. Aroma was light malt and vanilla and light funky yeast. Flavor was toasted honey, hints of grain and wheat. Finish was malty with light bitterness. Texture slightly thick, heavy carbonation giving lively mouthfeel. Overall spot on for a Helles LilBeerDoctor (4236) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 30, 2008
On tap at City Steam. Pours a clear yellow with a thick white head. Aroma of wheat and a slight fruitiness. Flavor of wheat, sweet fruits, some flowery hops. So sweet it’s almost juice-like. Not a fan of this one. Aurelius (5662) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JAN 29, 2004
A perfumy, lightly chemical lager aroma with light orange and talcum powder notes. Pale yellow and clear. Fairly sweet, not very edgy, and somewhat starchy (as I found many of their brews.) A bit of fruity hopping. Finish starts to build after a while.
