Pours black/ dark brown with a thin white head. Notas creamy as many of the mass produced dry stouts. Aroma is malty but also slighty bitter smell. Flavor is roasted malts with a little bit of bitterness. palate is a little watery for a dry stout. Cletus (6368) - Connecticut, USA - MAY 25, 2006

on tap-pours a creamy, light brown head that laces with black color. Aroma is cocoa, dark malt. Taste is cocoa, coffee, dark malt, bitter, dry. OK carbonation. Not my taste. dirtymike (2016) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - APR 8, 2005
Dark brown with ruby highlights amd a small off-white almost tan head. Aroma is of chocolate and roasted malt with mild fruit and hops. Starts bitter and finishes sweet Very thin. tiggmtl (4543) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 16, 2004
Roasted malts and soysauce with some rubber-like phenolics in the aroma. Opaque brown with decent off-white head that recedes to ring slowly. Overly roasty burnt grain husks in the flavour. Thick in texture but fairly light bodied. Low carbonation. On tap at the brewpub with DYCSoccer17, MartinT and Rastacouere.

Rubbery aroma frightening the roasty creaminess...A skeleton of a body dissipates all idea of pleasure...I hope the brewer’s called Deirdre, because this name would be awful otherwise... ChazyRPh (583) - Chazy, New York, USA - SEP 8, 2004
Deep garnet pour, not opaque. Small tan head, non lasting. The glass is very cold to the touch. Brown sugar aroma, very faint. Light coffee aroma also, more aromatic as it warms. Roasty malt flavor, almost too much carbonation. Choco-bitterness to finish. Probably much better served room temperature.
