A deceptively potent, light colored BELGIAN STYLE TRIPPEL, inspired by the great Trappist breweries of that wonderful country. 20P.

Pours a darker gold with an off white head. Smells spicy with some anise hints and some citrussy splashes. Tastes grassy and perfumy with some sweet notes and a peppery splash on the finish. Great example of the style.

Hazy yellow with a minimal head. Steady carbonation. Honeyed, toasted corn aroma? Wheaty and thick and corn syrup flavored. Medium-heavy body. Toasted malts, but loaded with corn syrup sweetness and popcorn toastedness. Cloying as well. Spicy alcohol taste is redeeming but this is bad. What happened with this one? Not the same as last years recipe, which was..uh..good.
