Pours deep hazy amber into a Sam glass. Off-white head with medium retention recedes leaving spot lacing to coat surface. Sour caramel aromas. Medium bodied with stale caramel upfront turning to nutty bread before the lasting bitter earth finish. blipp (9275) - La Mesa, California, USA - NOV 7, 2013
Draft. Pours golden orange with a thin white head. Fruity and lightly citric, light yeasty notes, and light malty sweetness. Relatively balanced and drinkable. crazyvin (2026) - New York, USA - OCT 12, 2013
It poured with a nice clear amber body and a nice white head that had great retention and nice lace. Aroma had a mild caramel malts presence upfront. Nice pine hops a slight hint of grapefruit. Flavor was hop forward. Mostly a dry bitter flavor. Some nice fruity notes and the malts were mild just like the aroma. Nice dry finish a little light on the palate.

Pint at brewpub. Good aroma. Sweet bitter. Grapefruit yet tad sweet. Clean brownish orange color. Ok head and lace. Bitter flavor. Medium body. Creamy thick mouthfeel. Bitter finish. Good. Though it’s bitterness would wear thin after a couple. Still decent enough ipa. Slepkov (46) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 20, 2013
Pours a hazy orange brew with prolific and persistent lathery head. The floral hop aromas carry across the room and are reminiscent of pine and citrus. On the palate it is clean with fairly strong carbonation. The hopping is exceedingly aggressive for an IPA (Rather than a double or imperial IPA) with very long lasting and astringent bitterness. Huge IBUs. Lots of pine flavors with some grapefruit and other citrus and a little bit of malt. This beer is all about the bitterness.

On tap at the source.
Comes to the table a solid golden amber with a decent head that leaves lots of lace on the way down. Smells of bitter citrus and earth with lots of caramel maltiness to back it up. Old school aroma reminds me of Harpoon. The flavor follows the aroma with lots of grapefruit and lemon pith with hints of pine and a bit of caramel and brown bread to back it up. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick sweet mouthfeel. Nice old school IPA I enjoyed it. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 22, 2013
Bottle. Pours a clear dark copper body with a decent one finger frothy beige head that had pretty nice retention. The nose is way too heavy on the crystal malt for my tastes, very sweet smelling with some resiny piney hops. The flavor confirms the heavy crystal malt as well, the malt is so heavy and sweet it takes away from the moderate bitter resiny hops. Lingering finish of instant iced tea and brash bitter hops. Medium bodied with a clingy stickiness and resiny sticky hops. Moderate fizzy prickly carbonation. This is exactly what I don’t want from an IPA. Tap at the brewpub. Clear orange pour with a clingy head. Floral hops, somewhat unbalanced. Just okay for me. Travlr (24768) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUL 12, 2013
Bottle. Hazy dark amber color, thick off white head, solid lacing. Aroma of fragrant and floral pine. Taste is very bitter pine resin, too bitter for me. Scrapersnbeer (1532) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - JUN 12, 2013
Bottled 4/26/13. Sweet caramel malt flavor with resinous undertones. Dark orange copper, looks thick and sludgy. Prickly bitterness that remains unbalanced by the wave of dried out dusty malt that follows. Very strong feeling, drinks rough. Not innocent when it comes to being overwrought and under thought.
