Tap at the brewpub. The waitress said that this was their best brew. That’s not a good sign. It’s also not a good sign (and this may only be my opinion) when a brewpub sells BMC. Bitter! And not in a good way. There was something funky (in both the aroma and mouthfeel) about this that just wasn’t very good. Very dry and bitter to finish. Not very enjoyable. retinadoc (240) - - JUL 23, 2012
Draft. Dark amber color. Hoppy nose, delicious mouthfeel with combined sweet and hoppy flavors. Slightly sweet finish. A very tasty beer! Dan269605 (235) - Rocky Hill, Connecticut, USA - JAN 5, 2014
Pale brownish amber with a finger of beige head. Malty on the nose, biscuit, cookie, slight brow sugar. The taste is subtle, biscuit, caramel. It’s like it wants to be an American Brown ale, but just not there. Quaffable in a session, but that’s about it. justabeergeek (225) - Albany, New York, USA - MAR 19, 2012
Deep amber pour with a 1 finger head when poured into a pint glass--decent lacing. Lots of caramel in the nose and even more in the taste. Very sweet caramel, toffee, and malt with a light bitterness. Simple, but tasty. kirk36 (223) - Peabody, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 27, 2013
I have an issue with this beer...it's a triple. A golden colored Carmel triple.

I don't care for the aroma. Mild English hops with a touch of buttery (diacetyl) but this is a very tasty beer. Well balanced with a nice malty finish. I was pleasantly surprised.

Growler RI - Lacey head. Malty flavor but light on the palate. Reminded me of a smoother Sma Lager - not sure if thats fair or not... AKThunder (167) - New York, USA - DEC 26, 2012
An english pale ale with a very floral taste. Other than that, nothing too remarkable. matalec1984 (115) - Massachusetts, USA - JUN 22, 2012
Deep amber pour with a small 1 finger head that fades quickly.
Aroma is very malty lots of toffee notes and slight hint of spice.
Flavor is very 1-dimensional but tasty. Caramel/toffee and very malty. Good be a little better balanced as I don’t get a lot from the hops at all.
Very easy drinker.
For a style I generally don’t like this is pretty good. A little to sweet but not bad. Cottrell (72) - Connecticut, USA - APR 30, 2005
Pours a dark amber, with a finger of foam. Aroma is sweet grain, and mild and lightly citric hops. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, and uninteresting. Flavor starts with grainy sweetness and light caramel, then turns mildly bitter, with a pleasing and subtle hop finish. Definitely drinkable, but really nothing to get too excited about. A pretty standard flagship offering.
