3 oz sample. Oreangey-citrus hop aroma with slight caramel malts in the nose. Smells yummy. Transparent copper color with an off-white head. Start is grainy, watery with mildly bitter citrus hops to finish. Bland, watery, and boring. Needs to have more hop or malt character. Just empty. boto (2263) - Granby, Connecticut, USA - NOV 28, 2004
Draught at the brewery: This was suprisingly a very dark golden color. There was about no head to it at all. There was a mild nose of floral hops, with some hints of pine, but they were very weak. There was some bitterness to the taste, but it was very subdued. Medium malt backbone to the beer. There was a slight dryness and a hint of more bitterness in the aftertaste. A good beer, but definitely an IPA dumbed down for the masses. With their other offerings of beer for the masses, I would think that this one would have a bit more character.
