2011-01-29 - shared by jerc & mabel with me and blankboy. 500ml can of likely awesomeness. Scary-looking pour - bubbly clear bright greenish-yellow with a plastic bright white frothy head. Smells like clover, tire fire and raw canola. Taste follows, not as ugly - pvc, ditch water, paper and stale corn. Light, harsh, fizzy, long ugly aftertaste - WHY does crap like this get made? Who buys it? Monkeys? MichaelAwesome (6519) - Wanne-Eickel, GERMANY - AUG 17, 2013
Thank you cuso fir this one. Classic lager with no surprises. Bit thin and pissy but quite quaffable. Very easy to drink with a bit malg and sugar in the back. Nice. Boutip (6374) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 5, 2014
Bottle: Poured a low yellow color lager with a medium size pure white foamy head with medium retention and some light lacing. Aroma of grainy cereal with some overcooked vegetable notes. Taste is dominated by some unrefined cereal notes with some overcooked vegetables. Body is light with good carbonation. Weird notes of overcooked vegetables don’t really help me enjoy this beer. UPDATED: MAY 2, 2012 In short: A salty version of our North-American macros. A notch below boringkappldav123 (6100) - GERMANY - DEC 18, 2007
How: A few times on tap and bottles when travelling through Romania/Transylvania, because in some small villages this was sometimes the only beer to drink
The look: Clear blonde body topped by a small white head
In long: Nose is typical bland macro. Taste is a variation of those bland macro beers, which in this case means some kind of high-fructose corn syrup mixed with Seven-Up™. Whatever… The difference here is the many times I had this shitty beer is always seemed salty. Maybe the salt goes away a and blends in for people who drink this beer less fresh outside Romania but coming from someone (me) who had it numerous times on location I can tell you that there is something in the water over there and a fresh Ciuc Premium is abnormally salty. This beer sucks. Drank many of these (unfortunately) while travelling Romania with my Romanian wife. Why did I not marry a Belgian woman again?
A friend of mine brought this beer from Romania. The bottle looks good. The beer tastes in the beginning like a bockbier, but much to dry, it really turns nasty. Not good. Skyview (6026) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - FEB 4, 2008
Sampled at Cellars Wine & Spirits in St Paul, MN with joebrew and brewfiend. Pours a clear golden pale brew with a fast dissolving white head that dissipates nearly clean with no film or ring. Aroma of sweet corn adjunct with a light citrus zest. Taste is light bodied, light carbonation with a sweet corn and grits flavor with some citrus hop character. Finish is sweet and a little gritty that quickly disappears with hardly no aftertaste. Not sure what to make of this brew except it is a sweet beverage with some stale citrus hop character. Can @ benzai. Clear golden colour with no head. Smells malts and grains. Tastes malts, grains, cardboard. Thin to medium body, soft to medium carbo. Marko (5698) - Split / Zagreb, CROATIA - AUG 23, 2008
0.5l can (5%, 11.5°) courtesy of a friend who lugged it halfway through the Balkans from Romania (huge thanks, Krešimir!)
After two beers of dubious "quality", this. Poured a pale, slightly gilded yellow colour with a small white head that went away fast. The nose was a bit better on this one, dusty malt, light hop and alcohol. The taste started out as light and sweetish, subdued, with pretty much nothing there except some grainy malt. And then the skeletons started coming out of the closet. Corn, alcohol, metal, acidic appley hopiness, all showing up at times and then disappearing soon leaving the maltiness to fight with the next off flavor. It developed a bitter aftertaste at a point but hey. This mess couldn’t be saved by anything. Crap. After three beers of dubious "quality"...
