Matured in Speyside Whisky Cask

Subtly peppery rye malt, warm fermented to increase its fruity character, offset by a blend of citrus dominant hops, then finished for a lengthy period Speyside whisky barrels to create a wonderfully complex ale.

330 ml bottle. Crystal clear Amber color, mild carbonation, a few bubbles. Aroma shows me mild oak, real weak whiskey, toffee. Flavor is a total refection of the aroma; mild toffee, earthy grain, and a very subtle oak finish. Very average body and slightly thin texture.

Bottle shared with JFE and BG 15.09.17. Dark golden. White head and lacing. Aroma and taste of tropical fruits and malt. Malt is evident, and so is red berries. Quite good

Clear golden colour with a white head. Rye, malts, whisky, alcohol, ok.

jookos (7222) - FINLAND - NOV 11, 2016
Bottle. Reeally clear ambery colour, like the stuff they pulled the fly out of in jp. Smooth malty, soft woody, wviskeyesque nose. Med bodied, smooth, easy. Lotsa whiskey, follows through. Honey. Mulled meadows. Clean flavourd S.

330 ml bottle bought at CitySuper in Habour City, Tsim Sha Tsui.

Clear amber copper colour; Very thin head with residual soapy white foam which fades in 15 seconds; Good sticky lacing with notable slight carbonation; Fragrant aroma of Ale malt, with strong cherry, red fruits, whisky, wood barrel, whipped cream, floral, sugar, pepper, spices and grass; Mid to light sweet taste of red malt, with strong red fruits, light caramel, floral, strong molasses, light liquor, spices, dry bread, lemon, medium bitter hops and grass; Close to medium body. Dry and slick palate; Mouth feel is moderate red malt in a slightly thinned body. Full of sweetened red fruits and light caramel. Whisky cask influence is liquorish but light. Thick molasses with medium sweetness. Spicy dry bread and lemon to round. Pretty nice!... Hoppiness is floral and grass in nose. Same in taste with lemon; Bitterness is quite strong for a lasting, mid astringent spicy malty finish; Quite dry after taste. Light boozy and quite bitter to mouth.

Comments: The whisky cask treatment somewhat lightened the rye’s dryness and spicyness, best manifested in creamy, fruity and woody aroma. Taste is evenly split between sweetness, liquor and lemon hoppiness. Wetter than most rye beers, but nice to try once in a while.

TBone (18670) - Pori, FINLAND - SEP 30, 2016
Bottled 330ml (Viking Line taxfree)
Clear amber color, small white head. Aroma has whisky and oak, underlying fruityness. Medium-bodied. Whisky dominates, vanilla/oak, then caramel, light citrusy hops then quite empty finish. Light for ABV, not too alcoholic. Drinkable but not very interesting. Somewhat similar to some Innis&Gunn-products.
