Nice dark brown. Thin head. The aroma is chocolatey and cookieish. Soft, smooth and very chocolatey, with a lightly fruity character and a vague whiff of smoke in the finish. Beersiveknown (5303) - NORTHERN IRELAND - MAY 8, 2011
UPDATED: OCT 19, 2013 A good looking dark stout this one with roasted coffee/earthy aroma. Fairly thick with a light brown head that is retained down the glass. Champion beer of Belfast 2010. Chocolate malt flavors preside giving way to a mellow finish and caramelised malt aftertaste. thellgren (1143) - Helsinki, FINLAND - NOV 16, 2013
0.5 l bottle from local supermarket. Colour is black as the name suggests and taste has dark chocolate. This is really nice. Well, maybe not in a hot summer day, but during a winter as dessert. JPDIPSO (6293) - Wauwatosa, USA - OCT 28, 2016
Dark brown with a tight small lid of off-white bubbles. Various grain aromas. Nice malts flavors with touches of mild coffee, dark chocolate and mild dark fruit. Benzai (16758) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - MAR 9, 2017
A touch thin, and quite bitter in the finish. 5/11
Bottle shared with Niilstrong @ The Garrick, Belfast. Opaque black color, full sized dense and creamy mocha colored head that lasts for a long time. Aroma is malts, slightly smoked malts, earthy, soft roast. Taste malts, dark malts, soft to moderately roasted malts, earthy and dry with a decent malt bitter finish. Solid dry stout I’d say.

Nice look: black with just hint of red, big brown creamy and dense head that leaves lacing. Mild aroma has light roasted malt, ash, coffee. Medium body with round but bit thin palate, long roasted finish, mild carbonation, dry and slightly bitter. Nice stout. Erzengel (9617) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - APR 26, 2014
500ml bottle, BBE Nov 2014 Dark and roasted in the nose. The beer starts smooth and creamy. Milk-chocolate together with a moderate bitterness in the mainpart. The aftertaste is long and intense. Chocolate, roasted grains, not too dry with hints of bitterness that fit in very well. Stuartyboy (1780) - Ayr, SCOTLAND - JAN 2, 2015
