Cask conditioned @ Giddy Bridge (JDW), Soton. Sweet fruity toffee, thin and a bit bland. really not my thing

tombyars (1821) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - NOV 23, 2011
Tasted this in the Saltcot, Saltcoats (JDW) in June 2008. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale russet in colour with a thin foam white head. Poor short lived aroma of peaches. Thin mouthfeel and poor lacing. Insipid pale malt base gives a slight watermelon flavour and little else. Sparkling tang of hop resins flood the aftertaste and this continues into the slightly dry tangy finish. Not my favourite from the portfolio but drinkable if pushed.

20th June 2008. Well balanced bitter. Actually not that bitter at all Orangey fruity note balanced by smooth malt.

Cask handpull The Castle, London. Copper brown colour, slight haze, disappearing head. It’s a not very good bitter, some fruit malt, some tingle on the finish. Aroma is musty and poor, not fully attenuated I’d say.
