33cl bottle at work from Yaan. Nose is pilsner malty. Body is clear pale, head is small white, frothy, mostly diminishing, good lacing. Aroma is malty, metallic. Medium sweet, light bitter. Finish is medium lasting malty light bittersweet. Light body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Easy, refreshing, simple, not bad.

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, courtesy of Haddock. Pours a misty yellow, minimal white head. Aroma of pale lager malts. Taste is clean, crisp Zwickel character. Doesn’t deviate from the style at all, but a pleasant quencher for the gang on this warm evening.

Pale hazy yellow big white head. Pils like bitterness with some fruity notes. Short slightly bitter finish. I drank this at the Lallange Sportshall in Esch and it’s a nice alternative to the other rather boring beers on offer at sports events

Gangstergafje (1102) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - OCT 30, 2016
The beer doesn’t look very special. The beer is quite pale. The color is yellow. The beer is clear, but there is some haziness. You can’t totally look trough it. On top of the beer, a tiny layer of rough white foam is formed. The bulk of the foam collapses very quickly, leaving almost no drape. The smell of the beer is nice. It smells mildly hopped and lovingly malted. There are lovely bitter and above average (but not to) sour aromas. It smells familiar. It has that typical zwickel aroma, which takes this beer a level higher than average pilsener or lager. It smells very refreshing. I like it. The taste is good and very refreshing. There is a nice gentle bitterness and sourness of the hops and a lovely malty sweetness. The three flavors are in good balance, which is well done. The finish is rather short, starting with fresh bittersweet tones but ending in a rather dry bitterness. The palate is good. The beer doesn’t have a lot of gas, but it fits the gentle character. Lovely.
