Draft @ MAX’s: small white head, floral, pine nose, hint of malt, flavor is citrus, some caramel, other spice. Lightly bitter finish. Decent. kmweaver (3208) - Petaluma, California, USA - JUL 20, 2006
Brewed in December 2003, draft at Frisco’s in Columbia, MD. Headless. Slightly floral and sugary in the nose. Amber color with gold around the edges. Nice carbonation on the tip of the tongue, citrus, candy sugar, sweet hoppy quality that’s nicely balanced; slightly dry mouthfeel in a medium finish. Quite enjoyable, very drinkable elderly brew. Draught @ Max’s: Dark amber/ruby colored body with a small white head. The aroma is light hops, spicy/pine, caramel, plenty of chewy malts, and some wood. The hops really come through in the aroma when the glass is fresh, though the sweet malts take over towards the end of the glass. Taste is slightly oxidized caramel, light roasted malt, grape, prune, grain, apple, figs. Medium bodied, moderate cabonation, alcohol completely hidden. egajdzis (6730) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 8, 2006
Poured a copper color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus fruits, caramel malts, floral hops, nuts, wood, and light oxidation. Taste of more citrus fruits, nuts, light smoke, caramel malts, wood, grassy hops, and medium bitterness in the finish. 9% was no where to be found.

Draft, Max’s on Broadway. Dark amber body with a small, off-white head. Mostly fading. The aroma is caramel, nuts and pine. The flavor is licorice, resinous pine, caramel, toffee and just slight oxidation. Medium body with a smooth texture. Hides the alcohol quite well. Highly drinkable.
