Very fruity and tart for an Oktoberfest. Sour and somewhat strong, it was definitely not as expected. cheap (6259) - CHINA - DEC 8, 2011
From a bottle with a blue and white checkered diamonds label, gold leaves in the middle. The bottle actually does not say climax on it, this is labeled as Hoffmanns Lager Beer Oktoberfest. Very nice good smelling darker beer but not brown nor black in color. Wew, hitting the buds, this beer really comes across as tart and I’m liking it. Funky tart farmy thing going on here. Very good carbonation. There must be some farmy wild yeast in there. Near sizzle cutting sour on the palate, very enjoyable since I like sour brews. I’m telling you, this borders on some of the better tasting sour or tart brews I’ve had. Mild and friendly yet interesting beer. Reminds me of beers I get from indigo imp. I hope I’m not interpreting an infected brew as a wild sour. Very nice crisp finish. Just enough hop presence to smooth it out in the end. As a sour beer lover, this has got to be some of the best fest I’ve tasted. Probably should not be in this style even tho it says oktoberfest on it. I should have bought a sixpack of this stuff. Was pretty cheap as I recall. House of 1000 beers. An unexpected pleasure for the evening. Yum. Hides its 6% well, no sign of alky in this sour soda pop mess. dmac (6646) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - NOV 9, 2011
12 oz bottle from Spirits Rt 9. Poured a good looking medium density orange/amber underneath a full foamy off white head. Aroma is dusty dry grains, cereal, bread and some light orange citrus. Flavor is putrid. Its like a combination of bad fermenting white grape juice and model glue. Not sure how this could smell so drinkable and taste so awful. Total drain pour.

Pours a medium amber hue with a small tan head. Aroma of lightly toasted barley, malt, with some grassy grainy and light fruity notes. Taste is light toasted sweet malts, some grain and a slightly funky taste. Palate is a medium body, with ok carbonation. Finish is sweet toasted malt, some grainy notes with some funk and some light nutty ending. Overall an ok oktoberfest. MadIndian (2743) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 25, 2011
Borwn pour with a cinnamon, raisin aroma. Definite spice, earth tones and yeast in the flavor. It was good. jgb9348 (6654) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - SEP 23, 2011
Nice slightly hazy amber coloured body with a copper tint and a thin tan head. Aroma of very nice and pungent malt, a good caramel and toffee scent, a very light amount of spices and a touch of grapes. Light-bodied; Strong sour and citric flavour at first with an odd malt note, some yeast flavours and a very distinct fruit flavour with lemons really coming through. Aftertaste shows a light bodied beer with some malt and spices, but mostly a light fruity taste. Overall, an interesting beer that doesn’t show much of a typical Marzen, but some interesting and complex flavours. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 04-September-2011 for US$1.95 sampled at home in Washington on 22-September-2011. jtclockwork (17770) - , New Jersey, USA - SEP 6, 2011
Bottle as Hoffmann Oktoberfest. Pours amber. Nose of sweet malt, bread and light caramel. Taste is mostly sweet malt with some artificial sugary sweetness. Light to medium body. Rciesla (5498) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - DEC 28, 2010
Draft. Pours a golden body with a short lived white head. Mildly sweet with fruit tones, cots and apple like notes. Medium body a bit crisp and sweet with a soft bittering finish. Decent.
