On tap @ Chuck’s 85th. Pours dark thick brown with oily light mocha head that lingers. Aroma is huge fresh hazelnuts, some coffee; but honestly a staggering amount of hazelnut aroma. Taste is sweet, lightly roasty chocolate malt, mild earthy coffee notes mid-palate, then big rich hazelnut flavor that lingers through the finish. Nice creamy mouthfeel. If you like hazelnuts, this beer is spot on. That said, it completely overwhelms the otherwise excellent imperial stout here, and isn’t really balanced in any sense of the word. I do like hazelnuts, so this worked for me...

Serving: from nitro tap at Flying Squirrel. Aroma: light chocolate and hazelnut. Appearance: large, creamy, light-brown head. Fair lace and mostly lasting longevity. Clear, cola-brown body. Taste: lightly sweet, chocolate and hazelnut initial flavor and finish with short duration. Palate: full body, syrupy texture and flat carbonation. Overall: unusual. Tastes like liquified Hanuta. Enjoyable.

Dark brown, caramel nitro head. Rich syrupy dark toffee and mocha nose. Mega sweet coffee, very rich. That’s a lot of fun. Touch of hazelnut, dark demerara sugars. Delicious.

On tap at the Beer Junction, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out rich hazelnuts upfront, followed by coffee, and light roast. Flavour is rich, with a lovely mix of hazelnuts and espresso. Light sweetness, with a coffee and hazelnut finish. Excellent.

Huge smell of hazelnut when poured. Tastes creamy with drake chocolate and rich hot chocolate. Really thick and heavy. If they barrel aged this it would be supreme.

Nitro at the brewery. Brown color with beige head. Aroma is hazelnuts, coffee, very aromatic. Taste is aromatic coffee with hazelnuts, chocolate. Silky mouthfeel. An extremely drinkable and flavourful Stout that has all the flavours it promises!

On tap at Holy Mountain. Black. Holy shit. HUGE hazelnut and chocolate notes on the nose. Leaps out of the glass. Unbelievably powerful aroma. Like candy. Nutella!! Wow. Flavor really follows. A bit of booze to counter the sweetness, but this is still downright sugary. Coffee is muted by the nutella. They really didn’t hold back on this liquid chocolate bar... cool result!

Holy Mountain, Seattle. At Wetwired release. Dark, oily heavy black, lacing offwhite head. Strong hazelnut with undertones of coffee. Reminds of the hazelnut chocolate creme sticks I had at Nordstroms as a kid. Softer, lighter wet body than I was expecting. Cool, modest sweet. Some bitter espresso with hazelnut. This one grew on me.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a deep black with a medium sized tan head. Big hazelnut and soft coffee on the nose. Medium bodied, but flattened a bit from the nitro. Creamy, light sweetness, roast, chocolate, cocoa, big coffee. Lots of chocolate and hazelnuts on the finish, little sweetness and then coffee roast. Pretty tasty overall.
