3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap @ Chuck’s 85th. Pours cloudy pale orange with thin fluffy white head. Aroma is light fresh citrusy hops, lemon and sweet mandarin orange notes stand out. Taste is smooth, creamy caramel malt; hops are earthy and bitter and lightly juicy. A bit discordant, but great flavors throughout. Also, a noticeably different flavor profile from most other Cloudburst IPAs, which tend to run a similar gamut. Not their best, but this is solid. Love the German angle here.
Draft pour pint at Toronado, Seattle. Glowing orange pour with a modest foam head. Its nice to see this beer finally get released. It seems like it was teased and talked about for a couple months. Can’t rush art I suppose. Like most beers I’ve ever spent a noticeable time waiting for, it was worth the wait. First sip of this, first thought is that its different. Unique to not only Cloudburst beers, but beer in general. Fresh oranges and pilsner like straw in the aroma. Flavor is straw grains as well, with a sweet orange fruit overpowering the hop bitter. Overripe fruit and sweet malt finish. A lot going on in this. Picking out the flavor combo is like trying to do long division in my head. At the last second it has a spice element to the malt profile. Honestly not my favorite offering from these guys, but unique, it makes this a very fun try that I will likely try again. Pretty good. tcon25 (1025) - Duvall, Washington, USA - AUG 20, 2016

Cloudburst, Seattle. Creamy head, hazy light gold. Round orange juice, some sweet round malt. Round body, a little dry pils malt. Sharp in spots but a little flabby too. Bitter hops to counter. Ok.
