3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap @ The Yard. Pours slightly hazy dark orange with a reddish tint, creamy white head. Aroma is sweet toasted caramel malt, earthy hops with a fruity citrus note. Taste is likewise - caramel malt has deep roasted notes that play nicely with the sweetness. Hops are punchy and bitter, pine and grapefruit flavors standout. Lingers lightly bitter through the finish. Up there with Cloudburst’s best IPAs, which is to say this is damn good.
Pours a hazy reddish amber on tap with fluffy khaki colored head that dissipates slowly to leave good lace. Aroma of huge dank citrus hop notes, from grapefruit to lemon to tangerine and orange, with a mild toasted malt base. Taste is hoppy as all get out, with a mild sweet maltiness you may expect from a traditional red, but still super hop forward. My kind of red. tcon25 (1025) - Duvall, Washington, USA - SEP 1, 2017
Draft pour at brewery, light amber pour. Hoppy bitter aroma, smooth hoppy spice flavors. andrewje41 (4672) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - APR 22, 2016
Draft 12 oz pour at Cloudburst. Cloudy copper pour with a lasting fizz head. I for some reason avoid red IPAs when I see them around, but it’s not like I was gonna skip this one. Mild punch fruit and hops aroma. Low bitter flavor with a sweet side. Stronger IPA that is crushable. Very well done.
