jjsint (3741) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAR 5, 2018
Handpull cask at the Cornubia, Bristol. Dark brown, slightly translucent. A bit of off-white head dotted around. Malty smell with notes of coffee and milk chocolate. Sweet taste, malt-led, with more chocolate and hints of Marmite. An astringent off-note, as well as a watery body, spoils the experience a bit right at the finish. Not the best stout out there.

September 13, 2017 - at Southampton Arms - handpull cask. Ruby-black with a decent mottle tan head. Heavy choc/coffee deep roast malt - some ropy/mineral sourness too - not a weak aroma, that's for sure. Taste is very light on alcohol, and if a little thin-bodied it's very pleasant and balanced, and much more on the dry side of roasted malt than the sweet - a little oily, and sour/iron tangy and I think it's deliberate from the water, not infection. Slick, still and sticky, nice borderline charred dark malt linger - my only quibble is I would like to see a bit more body.

On tap. Dark brown colour with tan head. Dark chocolate and coffee aroma. Chocolate and coffee taste. Medium body.

SinH4 (7041) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - SEP 7, 2017
Cask. Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is coffee ground, earthy, bready, halitosis, chocolate. Taste is chocolate, earthy, coffee ground, quite flavourful. Oily mouthfeel, flat. Fun!

theprof (1534) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - AUG 30, 2017
Tap. Pours expresso dark with tan lace top. Aroma fudge and chocolate malt, entering brownie territory and I have a cold. Taste is similarly dark malt bitter chocolate with some caramel sweetness behind. And a strong finish. This stout has clout.

Cask (4.5%), 1/2 pint, hand-pulled at State Bar, Glasgow on 19 Jul 2017, dark chocolate, roast malt aroma, very dark chestnut brown with a beige head and thin film of lacing, coffee, vanilla, chocolate flavour, creamy, sweet and smooth.

Cask at cloisters. Pours deep ruby, nose is smoky, caramel, roasted, taste is chewy, sweet, creamy, liquorice, roasted.

Cask at The Hop Inn, Newcastle-Under-Lyme. 4.5% ABV. A deep brown colour with a medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, slight smoke and subtle liquorice. Taste of roasted malts, coffee, some chocolate, slight caramel, a hint of smoke and subtle ash. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A short, dry, roasted bitterness in the finish. A proper classic stout. Roasted malts, bitter coffee, chocolate and subtle sweet caramel. Light on the finish, but otherwise nice.

Svesse (9222) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JAN 17, 2016
(Cask at Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak, London, 25 Nov 2015) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, coffee and caramel. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt, hints of smoke and a balanced coffee bitterness. Medium body, dry. Tasty and well made stout. Nice one.
