Well, one should read the label, ’don’t age, can get over carbonated’. And what a gusher it was. Funk, barnyard, sour citrus fruits, grain and cereal malts, caramel, orange, sweet lemon, light wood, wine barrels. Hazy gold, massive, frothy white head. Light bitter. More sour, sweet orange, more barnyard, sweet grain and cereal malts, light molasses, lively carbonation, medium bodied. Very nice Saison, great flavours and complexity from the barrel-ageing. Bottle from Beer Merchants, Larkfield.

Bottle. Amazing taste. Maybe tomato juice (!), very fruity though, super tropical. Mango, bit also something weird. Like it surprisingly. Great stuff. Brett. Lovely

BlackHaddock (7346) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAR 22, 2017
Not the first beer of the day, but the first of ten 0.75 litre Cloudwater beers between four of us in Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury on 22nd Feb 2017. Don’t ask how I got up the following day! Golden pour with a wispy white head. The nose was a strange combination of light yeast aromas and white wine like esters. Taste has more malt than the nose suggested but that was balanced by a mild citrusy/spicy/yeasty/white wine blend of flavours that married together very nicely to give a pleasant and easy start to our marathon.
