Unclear light dark brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, flowers, perfume. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, flowers, perfume, dark malt, chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20160806]

August 2016 - Bottle share on level 42, with thanks to Leighton. As ’Cloudwater Small Beer’. Very dark brown, foamy tan head, light lacing. Aroma is bready, apple, varnish. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is light apple, bread crusts, dry and twiggy. Just alright - a fairly basic offering at the ABV. (3.1)

Bottle shared at the chriso and Ruth pre GBBF Shindig 2016 - London. Day 1. Pours amber-brown with a tight, tan cream head. The nose holds toasted malts, light earth and pine, orange peel. Light to medium sweet flavour with earthy bitterness, toasted pine, grains. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Bitter finish, earthy, with some dried toffee and leathery berries. So so.

The great ChrisO pre GBBF gathering. Hazy deep amber beer, good pale tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Decent fine carbonation. Fluffy dark malts, a little dark chocolate. Developing bitterness, Tangy dried fruits. Some spice on the finish. Nothing special really.

Bottle shared at the pre GBBF chriso’s tasting day 1 06/08/2016. Many thanks to Leighton for this one. A clear reddy mahogany brown coloured pour with a lively light tan head. Aroma, nutty malty, piney hop, piney needle, nutty malts. Flavour is composed of nutty brown malts, piney hop, toasted bread, little dried fruits, pear. Palate is semi sweet, frothy carbonation, dryish finish. Good stuff.

Bottle at level 42 (thanks to L-Dogg). It pours clear dark brown with a small, bubbly white head. The aroma is rich, sweet, sticky fruits, candied peel, rocky road and fruit cake. The taste is smooth, bitter - sweet, leather, cocoa, toffee, dried fruits, fruit cake, toasty, bit of earth and leather with a warming finish. Medium + body and fine carbonation. Pretty decent stuff.

Bottle split at Level 42, thanks to LKS, 16/08/16. Mahognay brown with a decent beige cap. Nose is toffee, ripe fruits, spice, biscuit, fruit cake. Taste comprises earthy fruit esters, toffee, brown bread, fruit cake, tangy dark fruits, light peppery spice. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough for style.

Chris and Ruth’s Shindig 2016, Saturday. Clear amber/mahogany beer with s nice beige head. Malty caramel aroma, fruity, biscuits, slightly plastic. Malty caramel flavor, grapes, citrus, biscuits, some hops and chocolate. Decent beer.

750ml bottle from Beer Gonzo. Very dark brown, not much head. Dry treacle aroma. Sweet chocolate malt flavour. Subtle spicy aftertaste.Good example of this type of beer.
