Dark brown ruby pour. Thick eggshell head with lots of lacing. Dank and earthy hop aroma. Strong caramel malt aroma as well. Some yeast aroma as well. Aroma is quite a departure from the aroma. No yeast flavors. More citrusy hop flavor the. The dank hops in aroma. Toasty malt notes come through.

651 ml. bottle. Pours a thick, well retained, light beige head, with some lacing, over a clear, dark amber (SRM 15) body.....nose is treacle, light raisin, light plum, hints of resin.....taste is toffee/caramel, plum, raisin, finishing with a heavy pine, grapefruit peel lingering bitterness.....mouth feel medium, creamy, slightly sticky, mildly astringent, alcohol warmth present, carbonation low. This is nicely balanced between the malt and hop backbones. The bitterness is very cleansing. It is not as complex as many in this broad category. I would have preferred more caramel/crystal malt character. BJCP 7/3/14/4/7 hopdog (12510) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 7, 2013
22oz bottle. Poured an amber color with an off white head. Aromas of toasted caramel, floral hops, pine, and some dried rinds. Tastes of caramel, chocolate, pine, citrus, and some nuttiness. Reynolds314 (3441) - Connecticut, USA - MAR 29, 2013
Not very good. Overly malty and lacking hops. Very sweet and earthy with dried leaves and metal. Not refreshing and quite boozy. Ernesto987 (6050) - Arizona, USA - MAR 22, 2013
Big malty mess, just boozy and grains. Don’t like this at all fuck this.

I’ve had this 4 times now. Very good robust flavor with hops and caramel tones. Love the label art. unclemattie (4358) - Georgia, USA - MAR 12, 2013
22oz bottle. Bottled on 8/2012. Medium brown color, thick beige creamy head. Pacing in the glass is amazing, best I’ve seen. Sweet malt syrup scent. Nose has some leather, pine hops. Sticky malt body. Sweet malt, salted caramel, pine resin. Sharp hops. Very well made. Expected a bit more flavors. ABV is very well hidden.

Bomber from Red Violin - thanks beermenus. Pours a copper color with a foamy orangey-brown head leaving a lot of sticky lacing. Multitudes of fine bubbles continue to emerge, bottom to top, throughout the glass. Aroma has a great fruit combination of smells, plus citrus, spices and caramel. What more can one ask from an AmStr? Taste is hoppy pine and bitter citrus, a lot of resin and a huge sweet malty caramel base. Nice blend. Sticky and a bit rough; not too much alcohol presence. Finishes sweet with a lot of fruit and some bitterness. The components to build this - the loopy amber was ok, and eagle claw was pretty good - combined well; the amber malt base was bettered by adding the hop bill. Nice one! bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - MAR 1, 2013
