What should we call our Russian Imperial Stout? Black Unicorn? Soul Dragon? Nohhh. Lets combine them and create the ultimate mythical creature: Blaecorn Unidragon.

Imbued with a monstrous amount of dark malt and aggressive hops, Blaecorn Unidragon is a powerful and complex brew designed to improve with age.

UPDATED: NOV 15, 2012 Black, dark tan/brown head. Herbal pine aroma on top of a viscous stout of chocolate, woody, berry. Taste is big chocolate, roast, woody, berry, dry oak barell, big piney, earthy hops, big woody roasty but smooth not harsh, but strong malty smooth dark malts.Think this is maybe 6 -9 mo or less aged.Really good strong stout that hides alcohol but still shows its robust strength. Rich but not too sweet, dry roasty but very smooth as hell and slickish. Strong hop balancing its malt and alcohol. Unless Im just a big russian stout fan(loved most of them),which Im not really even a big stout guy, this is prettty spectacular for a 12.5%er. Well done for an abv this big. This beer is sexier than you may know, too.

This was an excellent beer, to my taste. Thick. Jet black with a nice brown head. Complex coffee and chocolate, with a strong (but not too strong) alcohol flavor. But not everyone can put it all together so that one element doesnt harsh out the others. This was a smooth, well balanced, complex, tasty beer, if you like Imperial Stouts. Outstanding!

Bottle. Colour...onyx with a thick tan head. Nose...hops, chocolate creme and date paste. Palate...kind of musty to start and then a heavy ashen flavour and feel. Loads of char ash, but then something like lavender and violet pops up. The mid palate is dry and heavy on dark Dutch chocolate. The finish is still ashen and quite dry. The 12.5% ABV is well hidden.

Aroma of coffee, chocolate, licorice and phenols. Pours a dark black color with a tan head. Oily feel, full bodied with a taste of licorice, espresso and phenols with a slightly bitter coffee finish.

Long-cupboarded big bottle bottled 22/02/13, $10.99 from San Jose Cask NFlask, CA. Tar pour with an evil Manila foam retreating to the edges of the tulip. Initial whiskey, burnt wood, ink and peppermint moving into sweeter lurking Neopolitan ice cream tones flecked with discreet US hop, smoked single malt, blackened Sugar Puffs. Sticky on the lips but easy to put down at 12.5%. Whiffs of fruit buns, raisiny high cocoa, peaty malt, Twiglets, mint, jerky and incense. Its a fine stout, if a little sticky and thin, but not worthy of the ceremonial 8K.

Pours an opaque dark brown almost black color with khaki colored head. Roasted malt, cocoa powder, and some light coffee tones on the nose; follows onto the palate. Full bodied. Finishes with mostly roast and some cocoa.

Pours a dark black color with a rich coffee aroma. Taste is vanilla, dark malt, and coffee flavor with a good boozy feature that tickled the palate. A rich, boozy beer that was exactly as advertised. Nicely balanced with good complex flavors.

On tap at Capones. 2011 vintage. I kicked the keg, but was able to get at least 8oz - it did initially pour all head, but settled to a near black. Roast, chocolate, lighter coffee, and some earthiness. Aged ok.
