UPDATED: FEB 12, 2018 Draft at Fishale. Very tasty impy stout. I actually thought I tasted more bourbon than coffee but it was good. Finishes lightly sweet. Tasty.

22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 10/20/2017. Pours pitch black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky tan head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roast coffee, wood smoke, molasses, caramel, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of coconut, charcoal, leather, tobacco, dark fruit, herbal, wood, pepper, and roast/toast/oaky earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready/smoked malts, coffee, bourbon barrel, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roast coffee, wood smoke, molasses, caramel, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of coconut, charcoal, leather, tobacco, dark fruit, herbal, wood, pepper, and roast/toast/oaky earthiness. Light-moderate roast/char and herbal/spicy hop bitterness; with some bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roast coffee, wood smoke, molasses, caramel, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, dark bread, charcoal, leather, tobacco, dark fruit, herbal, wood, pepper, and roast/toast/oaky earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready/smoked malts, coffee, bourbon barrel, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with an awesome roast/hop bitter/sweet and bourbon/oak spiciness balance; with zero acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from hop/char bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/silky, and lightly sticky/chalky/tannic mouthfeel that is great. Mildly increasing warmth of 10.5%, with zero barrel booze lingering after the finish. Overall this is an awesome barrel aged blended imperial stout. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready/smoked malts, coffee, bourbon barrel, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV. Tastes just like the label described. Great balance between smoked stout and Russian imperial stout; nice nutty/fruity coffee presence and awesome barrel integration with no booze. Still has a good amount of hop presence after the barrel aging as well. Wasn't as big on the coffee as I expected, but it was definitely adequate. A really enjoyable offering.

Fresh bottle probably the best from this series in a while. Nice coffee and bit hot.

650ml bottle from ck1, Thx bro! Very dark brown pour, brown tan head. Big chocolate, creme de cacao, caramel and espresso notes. The fudgy/vanilla creme de cacao leads nicely. Taste is of sweet caramel, chocolate, some roast, light fudge, and bourbon. Medium to full bodied, the blend is pretty good and there is some alcohol presence. Finishes sweeter than bittersweet with the bourbon caramel fudge overdoing the bitter chocolate/espresso. This nose is really terrific, and the taste is in the same ballpark, if not quite to the same level. Great, somewhat subtle use of the barrel, showing all these other components. Another very strong stout offering from Clown Shoes! 15.8

This beer is an inky black color with a medium tan head that diminishes gradually to an outer ring. Patchy lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of coffee, bourbon and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, roasted coffee and chocolate malt. The finish is mildly boozy with a coffee and bourbon aftertaste. Good beer all around.

December 30, 2017 - bottle from AV3. Black pour with some head. Aroma was roasted malt, bourbon, chocolate and coffee. Taste started quite sweet, mild bourbon throughout, finish had the roasted malt, light coffee and very mild bitterness that bordered on being smokey/ashy.

Bomber from Cap Tap. Pours near black with a transient tan head and a treacle and coffee aroma. There is a full-bodied chocolate and dark molasses flavor with a smoky coffee finish. Nice breakfast drink on Christmas eve day.

This is pretty much everything I'm looking for in a beer. A rich, thick flavor of dark chocolate malt, coupled with a strong, yet subtle coffee flavor. Can't recommend that folks grab a bottle of this if they can find it. Good luck!
