Brown Angel comes at you with three levels. At the heart the beer is layer upon layer of pure, delicious malt. Columbus and Amarillo hops add an intense hop presence while a final layer of East Kent Goldings delivers a delicate floral finish. This is NOT your old school brown, but a rather sexy American interpretation.

Another good brown from Clown Shoes. Pours a nice warm dark brown from a bottle, off-white head with lots of lacing. Nice caramel maltiness, a little coffee note, good floral hoppiness with some lasting bitterness. Heard theyre going to retire this one so thought Id grab a bottle, glad I did. Good beer.

Muy chula versin de Brown Ale americana. Carcter maltoso tostado, con notas dulces y a frutos secos. Tras esta base, lpulos C en nariz y boca para llegar a un final amargo y floral

Sampled at a festival. It has hard for a brown ale to get much better. Simple beer. Lots of malt flavor, lightly sweet but the flavor of malt and grain is more prominent. good palate on this beer.

Bomber into a pint glass. Pours mahogany, with a dense tan head that lasts. Good lacing. Nose is hops and malt, and the taste follows. Malt up front gives way to moderate hop bitterness. Not what youd expect from a brown ale-hoppier than the norm. Pretty good, but not outstanding.

Deep dark brown color with a touch of burgundy, about an inch of tight tan bubbles that evaporate pretty quickly; piny aroma with some dark chocolate, pecan shell. The flavor is fairly hoppy with a touch of toastyness, a bit of mild chocolate sweetness. The carbonations a bit prickly, the mouthfeels just south of heavy. Its delicious but not a typical brown at all. More like a malty pale ale.

Aroma is roasted malts, fig, clove and light tart. Taste is medium roasted makes with hints of caramel, toast, fig, and nuts. Finishes with light clove bitterness. Appearance is a dark amber with a medium pearl head that retains fairly well.
