Cerveza con buen aroma y sabor a café que se me hizo algo pesada. Muy densa para mi gusto. Huhzubendah (3775) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 4, 2012
New bottle from Gregg Berman. Thanks a lot for replacing this!
A: The body is chestnut brown with gorgeous crimson highlights. The head is an inch thick and appears light tan or beige in color, with superb retention. As the head slowly recedes it absolutely coats the glass in a thick sheet of lacing. A remarkable appearance in all facets.
S: The aroma is a balance of malts and hops, with mild bitterness in the nose.
T: The taste is initially bready and malty, followed by a pleasant hop bitterness that gains presence near the finish. The beer is well balanced, and has more of a hop character than I am accustomed to in a brown ale. Well done.
M: I particularly enjoyed the feel of this beer. It was smooth on the palate, with alcohol content well disguised. Malt and light roast, followed by a tangy, bitter hop finish, and lingering aftertaste. Again, well done.
D: I would definitely drink this again. Thanks Gregg!

Bottled. Dark reddish brown coloured. Dense light brown head. Aroma of herbs. caramel, roast, flowers, light grass. Flavour of roast, caramel, cocoa, flowers, herbs and light sterin. MEdium to full bodied. Ends on a rosted and floral bitterness. Nice. Beerenberger (1605) - Fischer, Texas, USA - JUL 31, 2012
APPEARANCE: A dark brown pour with a fluffy tan head which depleted rapidly and a little lacing. AROMA: The nose is rich malt and perhaps a hint of dark fruit and brown sugar. TASTE: This a hardy brown ale. The initial taste is roasted malt followed by a blast of hops. This is not an over-the-top hop but a nice complement to the malts. There is in fact a hint of floral in the aftertaste. MOUTHFEEL: The mouthfeel is medium to medium-full. OVERALL: This was a really nice brown ale with a standout taste.

Hazy dark brown with a bumpy fluffy head that slims down to a film and leaves some decent lace but nothing too pretty. Smells nicely of pine, hops, and some pineapple sweetness and then later on the maltiness appears which was nice and created a better balance. The taste was a also nicely balanced between the hop/pine flavors and the nutty malty and hint of fruit flavor along with a dry wood flavor which I got more towards the end adn in the aftertaste. Very nice moderate carbonation and medium bodied. Really easy to drink and nice example of a style that is not overly popular.

UPDATED: SEP 23, 2012 65cl bomber @ Delirium Hoppy Loft courtesy of and shared with Ronny (rlgk).
Savannah, Ga - Habersham Beverage Warehouse - 22 oz bomber. Pours a deep. dark brown with a sticky khaki colored head that leaves a nice coat of lacing. Aroma has a nice earthy dirt essence to it with a hint of licorice and chocolate. Flavor is full-bodied and fresh. Notes of chocolate, nuts, caramel and licorice permeate throughout. Mouthfull is thick and full. Very solid and flavorful brown. rlgk (18843) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUL 25, 2012
Bottle, shared with sebletitje at Delirium Hoppy Loft. Dark amber/brown beer with a nice rich beige head. Hoppy chocolate aroma, cocoa, roasted, metal, fruity, mint, citrus, tar notes. Chocolate finish, metal, roasted, some mont. pretty nice. dagimp (1008) - Philly, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 17, 2012
Poured from a bomber into a snifter. Pours a very deep brown, bordering on black. A couple inches of brownish white head but little lacing. Aroma is dark and malty. Plenty of chalk, dark malt and cocoa. Mouthfeel is dead on. Not heavy like a stout, but more porter-like and dry. Carbonation is perfect. Taste is chalky with with plenty of dark flavors such as chocolate, chalk, some berry, cocoa, red wine and a wee bit of grassy hops. Overall, a very good beer. Didn’t wow me but very well constructed. oobawa (1854) - Tennessee, USA - JUL 15, 2012
I want to like this beer, but it never quite comes together, despite the sum of its parts. The texture is largely to blame, since the beer never quite feels as big or hearty as you want, not letting the massive amounts of malts and hops settle. The bitterness is there, but there’s an unfortunate home brew quality that shows through on the finish. Nice label though.
