Brown color with medium sized head. Good dark malts, some chocolate, roasted nuts, correct bitterness, a bit breadish.
Herber und hopfig-malziger Antrunk. Im Mittelteil führt die Malzigkeit, die frisch würzig und hintergründig schokoladig ist. Herb-schokoladiger Abgang mit deutlichem Hopfenanteil, gut! 11/11/10/11/9/11

Bottle at ChrisOs ’Blue Ridge Mountains Of Virginia’ tasting. Red amber colour, thin beige head. Lots of intense high alpha hops. Hops are a bit harsh. Very good hops but harsh. Not much of a brown ale. OK. Needs more sweet malt to balance it. saxo (18960) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - NOV 19, 2011
Bottle from Skjold Burne. Aroma and taste are nuts, caramel, fruits, chocolate, malt and hops.

Bottle, shared with sebletitje at Delirium Hoppy Loft. Dark amber/brown beer with a nice rich beige head. Hoppy chocolate aroma, cocoa, roasted, metal, fruity, mint, citrus, tar notes. Chocolate finish, metal, roasted, some mont. pretty nice. mcberko (18422) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 18, 2015
22 oz. bottle, pours a reddish dark brown with a small white head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, a touch of dark fruits, and some oxidation. Flavour is similar, with bready malt, caramel sweetness, and toasted malt. Well-balanced and clean. Not overly intriguing, but it’s solid. chrisv10 (17926) - DENMARK - SEP 25, 2011
Bottle. Dark brown with big beige head. Flavour is light roasted malts, nutty, caramel, medium sweet, hops, little grass and medium bitter. yngwie (17102) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - NOV 12, 2011
Bottle, 22oz. A big, dense and rocky head, beige in color, forms over a more or less clear dark amber body. Roasted malts, some sourish notes and a nice hoppyness in the aroma. The flavor has a distinct coffee flavor, along with bitterness, pine cones, some chocolate and and roasted notes. Full-bodied, too carbonated and semi-dry. Mostly bitter finish with chocolate and roasted malts. A really pleasant brown ale. Could drink more of this. Several times. 111112 jtclockwork (16857) - , New Jersey, USA - APR 27, 2012
Bottle. Pours a lovely dark brown with tan head. Nice lacing. Nose/taste of mixed nuts, burnt and roasted malt and some caramel notes. Some juicy citrus mixed in on the mouth feel. Finishes a bit dry. Medium body. Nice beer.
