Darker than expected. Two fingers of a tan/brown head. Carbonation itself seems a little high for the brown style. Slightly nutty smell with some bready malts and not much hops. Mouthfeel is a little thin and did not meet my expectations. Not much hops in the flavor.. Getting some caramel, toffee and chocolate flavors. Overall, not bad.
22 oz bottle shared with ebone1988. Discovered this beaut in the depths of the second fridge, which became recently accessible. Bottled on 06/17/2013. Here we go. The pour is a darker brown/black with a nice thick and soapy light tan head that leaves lots of lace here. There is a thick bubbly ring. The aroma is decently malty. There is a light scorched malt and a light chocolate. It does have a little alcohol and is known. The flavor is interesting. The malt and chocolate come through pretty good with a bitterness. This is interesting. Sweet and old malt with a bitter chocolate. I’m not feeling this much at all. The mouth feel is watery and light bodied with a sharper alcohol and scorched malt. This is interesting and old for sure. Not too shabby. 5 4 5 3 12 ebone1988 (2232) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - OCT 22, 2017
Bottle shared with koleminer20, now clearing out the fridge, found this gem in the back. Bottled 6/17/2013. Aroma is old malt, nutty, some earthy hop, malt, incredibly old aroma. Appearance is brown, light tan head, clearish. Taste is old malt, some decent earthy hops left, nutty, decently robust malt, not bad for the age. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, light carbonation, old malt nutty earthy hop aftertaste. Overall, not terrible for being four years old. simontomlinson (673) - Blackburn, Lancashire, ENGLAND - SEP 23, 2017
Off white creamy head stayed on a very dark brown, finely effervescent body.
Big malty aroma with demerara, dark fruits & dark spirits.
Medium bodied, creamy, minimal carbonation & spritely on the back.
Malty to the fore with dark sugar, smoked hints & berries with a hoppy citrusy back.

Refrigerated brown bomber from FlandersNed poured into an English pint glass. Clear medium brown with medium beige head. Aroma is evergreen hops, medium body, medium carbonation, and thick small-bubble lacing. Taste is evergreen hops, caramel malt, and floral hops. More like a brown IPA. olio (10673) - Tampere, FINLAND - NOV 29, 2016

Pours clear dark mahogany red-brown color with a large off-white head. Slightly ashy aroma, berries, dark malts and chocolate. Flavor is chocolaty with some berries, spicy notes, mild hop bitterness, chocolate and some coffee. I like the chocolaty aspect of this but otherwise quite mediocre Aroma is a bit stuffy, flavor is better.
650 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown colour with a white foamy head. Aroma of sharp red berries, bread, raisins and grains. Flavour of dark red berries, chocolate, floral hops, a bit of metallic notes, nuttiness and grains. Medium bodied and a bit foamy mouthfeel. Feels a bit off I’m afraid. Great taste and feel for a brown. It has a smooth taste and a lot of carbonation. GoufCustom (2254) - HONG KONG - AUG 26, 2016

650 ml bomber bottle at abv 6.9% bought at YATA in MOKO, Mong Kok.
Looks: Clear deep amber colour with a thick crust of yeast sediments; Explosive three and a half finger head with crumpety light beige foam which lasts for 4 minutes; Very good sticky lacing with very fizzy carbonation.
Aroma: Very fragrant and spicy rich amber malt, with strong sweet caramel, strong sticky toffee, strong cinnamon, nutmeg, strong dark chocolate, cocoa, citrus, orange, floral, sugar, dark bread, strong yeast, light lemon and grass. Wow!
Taste: Close to medium sweet strong amber malt, with strong roastyness, strong caramel, red fruits, cinnamon, strong spices, resin, wood, floral, molasses, strong dark bread, yeast, strong lemon, quite strong bitter hops and grass.
Body: Mid to full body. Slick, smooth and oozy palate.
Mouth Feel: Strong amber maltyness in a solid and smooth background. Very roasty and Bock-ish. Good red fruit base with lots of caramel, then truck loads of hops take over with strong spices, cinnamon, resins, wood and fresh grass. Moderate sweetness, very dry bready with strong lemon to round. Right on excellent!
Hoppiness: Strong cinnamon, nutmeg, citrus, orange, floral, and grass in nose. Resin, wood, cinnamon, strong spices, floral, strong lemon and grass in taste; Bitterness is strong and dynamic for a lasting, high astringent oozy malty finish.
After Taste: Quite dry. Spicy, oozy and bitter to mouth.
Comments: This IBL sure packs a punch, start with very impressive head, very malty and roasty with reinforced spicy aroma and oozy lemony hops. Malt taste is not as fantastic as the chocolatey aroma but saved by fine cinnamon and woody hoppiness. It works well from start to finish. I love it and I want more!
2015 bottle served in a goblet.
Clear red-brown body with a large, foamy tan head that leaves a partial coat of lacing on the glass. Very good retention.
This "double brown" is, thankfully, double the malt bill (I guess) but not double the ABV of a standard brown. Americanized with enough hops to add flavor, bolster complexity, and leave this malt bomb leaning slightly more towards bitter than sweet. beerplace (2314) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 1, 2016
UPDATED: SEP 7, 2016 650ml from Big Ridge Liquor Store. Tasting with George. Pours a dark brown with a white head. Aroma and taste are caramel, dark fruits, toffee, smokey (especially in the taste). Burnt, stout-ish aftertaste. Excellent!
