Opaque dark brown beer, good mid tan head. Palate is crisp and a little dry. Mild fine carbonation. Mild minerals. Powdery chocolate that is somewhere between dark and milk chocolate. Touch of candy fruits. Very mellow coffee cream. Light finish. Pleasant enough but lacks a little depth.
Bottle. Dark murky brown color, nice brown head that settles quickly. Aroma of spiced chocolate, almost like a mole sauce. Taste is hot bitter cocoa and burnt espresso. Really nice. cgarvieuk (24230) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - NOV 14, 2014

Bottle shared in London - thanks to David. Pours black-brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose has light roast, milk chocolate, a little caramel, toast. Medium sweet flavour with bittersweet chocolate, some dusty burnt malts, mild earthy bitterness, light alcohol, burnt marshmallows. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish with sugary chocolate, dry roast, faint coffee, oily vanilla. Fairly simplistic but enjoyable. fiulijn (20427) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 31, 2015
Bottle from Jake’s Liquor Store, Port Moody, BC
Jet black color with generous compact brown head. Very nice chocolate aroma, with just a pinch of spices, and a touch of caramel and old wood. Sweet but lean mouthfeel; the chocolate flavor is stronger than some roasted malt; there is a touch of liquorice and an impression of chili pepper; the flavor is fresh; the final is just a bit more boring.
Easily drinkable. Excellent.
