Malty and sweet, gorgeous pour on tap at one of my favorite bars in Mpls. Very definite chocolate presence here at the forefront of the flavor. Pleasant on the tongue and interesting. My friends all agreed at the table: this was the best stout they’ve had. I’m not sure if it’s my fav. but if I want a choco-tastic, creamy beer I’ll go this route.
12oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is ancho chills, chocolate fudge, vanilla, some roast, and some cinnamon. Taste is chocolate, ancho chills, light roast, some cinnamon, and a bit of vanilla. Grainy, lightly roasty finish. Medium body. Not-quite-medium carbonation. Sticky-creamy mouthfeel. The chills don't bring any spice and work a little awkwardly in the taste, but are great on the nose. nearbeer (5520) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 2, 2017
12 oz. bottled 07/03/2017. Purt near inky black with a thin creamy disc of foam. Nose is vanilla, milk chocolate and toasted nut. Flavor is Milk Dud chocolate malted candy, vanilla and toasted almond. Finish has some caramel apple, dried grass and whole grain bread. Never really got any caspaicin from the ancho and thankfully the cinnamon was used sparingly. Finishes a tad sticky even with medium high fizz, but overall walks a delicate, drinkable balance for a big dessert beer. Kleg (299) - The Beach, Florida, USA - AUG 15, 2017
Pours pitch black with dark mahogany highlights and a tan head with excellent retention. Looks like a nitro. Decent lacing. Very dark roasted malt and bitter dark chocolate flavors with a boozy finish. The 9.0 ABV is an interruption to the flavor. Wish it was slightly sweeter. bigtaster (1004) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - AUG 4, 2017
From bottle into wine glass. Black with brown head, chocolate aromas, peppers, spice, barley. Thick body, medium carbonation, slightly bitter. Nice beer. lello4ever (1116) - ITALY - JUN 30, 2017
Buon corpo e carbonazione bassa.

Post workout beer in Alamogordo that I picked up from Specs in El Paso. Lightly cool because the fridge is less than cold. Pours a dark brown with a foamy, rich, brown head. Aroma is sweet malt, milk chocolate and a hint of spice in the finish. Great flavor that starts with sweet chocolate and vanilla like ice cream and has a touch of lingering spice. Enjoyable. benpickens (527) - Camarillo, California, USA - MAY 29, 2017
Pours inky black with roasting and dark chocolate on the nose; nice long oily finish with bitter dark chocolate edge. phillipshome (1) - - MAY 12, 2017 does not count
Very tasty. Likes the notes of vanilla. Good flavor of coffee and chocolate.

Finally a Stout, and Imperial at that... 9% alcohol isn’t bad! Great all around. alex_leit (4809) - Minsk, BELARUS - APR 27, 2017
