Pours deep brown with a massive, thick tan head. Chocolatey aroma with slight cinnamon, vanilla aroma. Rich stout, chocolate-cake with nice vanilla and cinnamon notes that hit the sides of your mouth; every sip leaves you wanting another bite of cake! Would love to try this barrel-aged!

12 oz bottle into a La Chouffe stemmed tulip on 15th Jan 2018 at my Son-in-Laws in California. Very dark body, tanned head that soon turned into a wisp and collar. Chocolate notes in the nose, light coffee esters also. Taste came across as chocolate flavoured with a light spicy note or two, coffee grains in the mix as well. I can just about feel a mini chili hotness, but this isn't a 'thing' in the overall context of the brew.

Pours a very dark ruby color. So dark it’s very nearly black. Half finger beige head. Poor retention, okay lacing.

Aroma is dark roasted malts. Chocolate, chili peppers. Different, but pleasant.

Taste is sweet, lightly spicy. Bittersweet chocolate, cocoa powder. Vanilla. No alcohol. Good malts, but I’m not picking up any cinnamon.

Mouthfeel is medium full bodied. A little chalky. Tasting peppers in the swallow.

Overall this is good. Could stand some more spice. It’s sweet enough to be a dessert beer, but it’s also an anytime beer. I’d probably buy it again, and I would probably recommend it.

Wow, this was a thick stout. Everything you’d expect from a spicy chocolate stout. Very thick on the tongue, boozy, pepper and chocolate sweetness. Tried at the Waiting Room in Omaha during the Mogwai show in 2017. Not the best concert beer...
