From notes; November 1, ’13. A: Strong dry hop aroma (Galaxy hops), with pine needle notes and hints of caramel and citrus. A: Pours a golden orange, not much head or lacing. T: Lots of citrus and fresh hop bitterness comes through, with a strong caramel sweetness as well. Taste is better than the nose certainly. P: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Smooth, slightly oily mouthfeel. O: Nothing special, the sweet maltiness confuses the taste, but a decent overall east coast DIPA.

Dark copper pour with white head. Big floral nose with hints of caramel malt. Flavor is grapefruit, touch of dank and citrus. Malty to the core, almost too much for my liking. Still solid to the finish.

Copper hued pour, "scared" head. Nose is floral wrapped around a carmel side kick. Middle sees the bursting of the carmelized malt dam, there is a marmalde character here, the malt is driving this bus. Out the back, ABV is incredibly well blended in the malt body (not always Clown Shoes forte), with an fruity and earthy kick. A restrained and balanced interpretation.

Quite sweet and resinous but with plenty of hops carefully disguised until the aftertaste kicks in. Oranges of the marmalade variety, pine and a slight kick of chilli in the back of the throat. Very tasty

UPDATED: DEC 9, 2017 En lata. Color naranja y espuma bastante persistente.

Can. This pours with a gigantic head atop a highly aerated bronze brew. It settles, but is well laced. The aroma is a huge malt-assault hinting at a chewy monster. Indeed, this drinks with a massive dose of caramel malt, raw sugar as the backbone. The hops are earthen and present but restrained. (#6819, 11/3/2017)

In a time when even the Imperial IPA's are venturing into a brighter and fruitier spectrum, Galactica drinks like an IPA that's gradually going out of vogue. Still, it won't go quietly and Clown Shoes makes a good hoppy beer regardless of the styling. Galactica pours amber with off-white suds. Dank aroma redolent of wet pine needles, woodsy and floral hops, and resin. Pithy flavor of grapefruit peel and bitter pine. Some caramel and toasty malt comes through. Crisp feel - not quite bracing but intense. There's no doubt that Clown Shoes can appease hopheads.

Off white creamy head stayed well on a ruby red, still still body. Well balanced aroma - smells really smooth. Over ripe fruit, wood & orange. Medium to full bodied, oily, minimal carbonation & cloying. Heavy on the hops with bitter citrus, pith, sweet malt, red berries & a woody finish.
